They closed the sidewalk?

Dysons are noise pollution. So disgustingly loud. Sure, they dry your hands, but it's like standing behind a jet engine.

In places, yes. The reasons for it make sense, in that heavy traffic on the strip would be even worse with stacks of drunken idiot pedestrians blocking traffic. But the current layout makes me feel just a bit like a cow being led to a slaughter.

Is the sidewalk permanently closed in those areas? I thought that was temporary to install the latest round of bollards. Where exactly are you referring to?

Maybe this is karma for you not donating to the "monks" on the strip who put that bracelet on your arm.

Also get off the damn Strip and go eat the omakase at Kabuto. Do it for me.

Howard nice job making use of the old man nit persona.
07-04-2018 , 01:10 PM
TY, sir. It was huge fun.
07-04-2018 , 01:26 PM
Make a deep run, kid. And go to Kabuto.

Howard,

Have you really not been to Kabuto? If so, that should be addressed ASAP

Lapka,

Everyone knows about USA #1!

Nope. I know it only because of OOT.

Boy, do I have to hold the aspergy part of my personality back right now.

I have never been to Kabuto. I may well be able to do that tonight.

I went to a place called "The Void" at downtown disney in anaheim today. It's like a hyper-reality VR experience.

https://www.thevoid.com

Holy mother of god. it so surpassed all my expectations. The price point is high - $32 - and it's only about 15 minutes long which sounds like a ripoff but what you get is crazy.

They fit you with a strap on backpack/vest type of thing and a headset. It was a little blurry and uncomfortable with my glasses on but it got better.

Basically everything you can touch in the "game" or whatever (I did the star wars one) has an actual surface you can touch in reality. When you touch a rail there's a rail there. When you step outside on the lava planet, you can feel the heat pounding you. You step on a repulsor lift kind of thing and you can feel it moving underneath you. When you're in the space shuttle, you can feel it moving around. They went all out. At one point later on, there's an R2 unit inside a room with you and I touched it and it was actually ****ing there. It's unbelievable.

You get some blasters at some point and do some fun little mini games/fights with stormtroopers and a few "boss" encounters. Story was meh but it really was about the experience. The graphics were superb. I really felt like I was there. The hands were a little glitchy - that's my only complaint. my client froze up on me one time for a few seconds but it didn't ruin the immersion that much.

15/10 would do again. There's also a location in Vegas I guess. They have a few other stories too, one horror one and a ghostbusters one.

Now you mention it, probably not many people except the Americans and the British (and the Canadians, possibly) know what 4 July is about. I have a parchment facsimile of the Declaration of Independence here in my desk drawer, but that may be a bit unusual.

^^ This. And it is no shame in not knowing certain parts of history of the globe. But somehow .... I like that I know it now since I spent so much time here and it is an important date for majority of you.
