After the email they sent, I called them up and said I didn't know what they are talking about. They said I was using a tethering app. Not sure how they knew. I removed the app and carried on. I do miss the app for traveling.

just figured out a solution that worked for me

settings -> general -> cellular -> personal hotspot and toggle to on

edit: on 6.1 factory unlocked. if you have att and that option is not showing up PM me and I can help

in cydia it is showing 2 updates...

A thethered jailbreak means that everything will remain the same if the phone is turned off or restarted. Untethered ,means you would have to jailbreak every single boot which is obv a pain in the ass


This sounds like the easiest way for the carrier to start charging you to tether. Anyone know how the providers in USA respond to this?
With this specific iOS option anyway. I used to tether my android on T-Mobile and they don't give 2 ****s

well im not in the usa, but imo just deny deny deny. all they can see is you are using tons of data. tell them you jail-broke and download torrents directly on the iphone w/ i Transmission and its allowed for you to used unlimited data on the phone, right? also torrents are not necessarily illegal

Springtomize --> Icons -- Use Custom Number switch On.

It's a weird feature in springtomize that most changes you make you also have to have something where you choose to have the change be off or on.

Also folder enhancer or infinifolders are must haves.

I haven't jailbroken my idevice in over a year, the wares I miss are sbsettings and folderenhancer. LiveOS was a cool theme but it was a nightmare installing.

Can't really see myself jail breaking again, as performance wise I noticed a huge improvement after restoring back to non JB

I have a question for the jailbreaking gurus out there.

I've mentioned the problems I'm having with my volume buttons. I found a forum post (not 2+2) where an Electronics Engineer took apart the phone to investigate what was going on. It sounds like it's a hardware problem, caused by some kind of manufacturing defect/oversight where you can get an electrical short that makes the phone believe that the volume button is being held down.

Anyway, I was hoping the solution to the problem might lie in the customization provided by jailbreaking. Could there be a way to set up NCsettings or SBsettings to have a button to toggle whether or not the volume buttons actually do anything, like the WiFi/3G/Location toggles. Ideally, if I'm listening to a podcast or something and won't change the volume often, I could disable the buttons altogether and use some kind of slider to change the volume.

when downloading some themes/apps/files from cydia/??app?cake??

some of them dont download says error or something i cant remember exact words,also some download but when i go to open them that crash str8 away

like bitesms for example there was at least 15 i tried all same....
