Still can't download anything from cydia.

Same here, it took me 2 hours to get winterboard. It's expected though and I see it being like this for a couple days at least. I keep trying to leave cydia alone but it's way to tempting to keep trying, which is worsening the problem cause that's what everyone is doing atm.

strange, all they can see is you are using more data suddenly, not whether or not it's on the phone. at least im pretty sure. what ended up happening?

ive used it tons on att a year+ ago and never heard a word about it

Dropped my 5 a few weeks ago and it ended up smashing the glass on the upper back, as well as denting and leaving a few huge scratches on the aluminium. Don't have insurance on it. Anyone know if apple are able to replace this in store and how much they'd charge?

I was fighting the volume thing constantly this morning while trying to listen to my radio app. Constant fluctuations between all the way up and all the way down.

I'm thinking about trying out this jailbreak thing. My phone's well over a year old now, and worst case scenario is I'd do something that made me have to get a new phone - and after the problems I'm having now I don't think that would be a deal breaker.

I was all over rooting Android and trying different ROMs etc, but I don't know hardly anything about jailbreaking iOS. What's a good tether app?

Also, should I worry about losing data like Angry Birds progress and stuff like that?

There are a lot of 3rd party stores around here and I've heard glass replacement as being in the $70 range or so. That number may be off as it's a recollection. Google is your friend, if you're in a major city you should have a lot of options.

I would recommend the subreddit on jailbreaking, as someone who is just getting familiar with it as well. There is a ton of info on there. http://www.reddit.com/r/jailbreak/

I'm not enamored with the jailbreak so far. It's broken the Weather app. It just opens and immediately crashes back to the home screen.

I paid for Dashboard X 2.0 but it's just giving me a HTTP 401 Forbidden error when I try to download it.

I just found sbsettings and I like it so far. I've wanted that functionality to quickly toggle Bluetooth/Wifi.

I'm going to give it a day or two and see how it goes.

Weather bug is a known issue

Cydia servers have been getting hammered with the initial release so hopefully things will smooth out soon

Unwinding a jailbreak is trivial I assume if I don't like it? Never gone down that road before.

If by unwinding you mean going back to the way it was before, then yes, it seems as long as you backed up your phone before jailbreaking, all you have to do is restore it via iTunes and the JB is undone.

Cheers, might have to give it a shot. I'm not even sure what to expect, but if I could create quick toggles for certain settings it'd be worth it for me.

You can. Look for SBsettings in cydia.

To everyone who's tried the latest JB. Is it a problem if my previous jailbreak was using redsn0w? Would JB via evasion create any issues?

SBsettings is awesome. Swipe across the top bar for a popup screen that lets you toggle things like WiFi, Cellular Data, Bluetooth, Location Services, etc. Also gives you a sort of quicklaunch where you can bring up a shortcut to several apps. It's the best app I've found so far.

Still haven't been able to download Dashboard X 2.0 but hopefully that's just a problem with the surge of traffic they're getting.

The live lock screens (Nexus) are pretty fun. It's a nice flavor change after using Apple's default for so long.

Why has apple still not given us quick way to settings?

So during the chaos yesterday I managed to sneak in and get Winterboard and a lockscreen theme to fully download. Was happy until I realized that notifications were hidden behind the theme in iOS 6.

Someone said BulletinPro should work as a fix.

Fix for the weather app:
http://www.pod2g.org/2013/02/ios-mob...t-rebuild.html

Not the easiest, probably easier to just start using a different app for the time being.

Cydia servers are starting to be much more responsive now. Was able to download plenty today after giving up after several tries yesterday.

f.lux is the tits. I wish I had known the desktop version existed earlier, because I'm sure staring at bright monitors all the time is no small part of why I have problems sleeping.

Cheers Tuq, will look into that.

Also came here to post that f.lux for iPhone might just be the best thing ever. Awesome.

It's on.

I've got springtomize 2 and resized all my apps so I can go 5 x 5, hidden a bunch of unwanted apps, replaced the carrier with my name and replaced the time with 'Don't Panic"

I got iblacklist which (among many other things) blocks calls from unknown/blocked caller IDs. And I of course got sbssettings.

I have a 4s but this girl at work showed me how she gets free wireless hot spot on her jailbroken phone with some MyWi app.

I don't know the first thing about jailbreaking or what it even is but I desperately want this free wireless hotspot as I run through like 12 gigs of data a month (my job is a lot of downtime watching Netflix).

Can anyone here help guide me through how to jailbreak and get this MyWi thing working?

It's a Verizon phone running 6.0.1 FWIW.
