I get up at a slightly different time each morning depending on the workout so would have to adjust it nightly. The obvious attractive thing about this (if it works) is being able to get up 5-30 minutes earlier than I normally do and yet being as or more rested. That's effectively free time.

As noted, just set an alternate / backup alarm. I do that anyway, too many times in the past have I been burned using only one.

I kind of miss this from Handcent when I was using Android. It was easier to determine what side piece to drop based on amount of communication.

I'm kidding, I was never using android.

My favorite rumor site is saying an untethered jailbreak for 6.1 is close to being released: http://www.redmondpie.com/iphone-5-j...r-bowl-sunday/

It really works for me. Normally I have to have an incredibly loud, annoying alarm to jar me awake from anything other than the lightest sleep, but since Sleep Cycle waits until I am at the lowest ebb of my cycle, the light sounds work.

As my phone sits on my desk with the volume icon stuck on the screen (Volume at 0), I'm reminded of trying to take a picture at a job site last Friday. The problem has spread to my Volume + button as well. Most of the time, the volume goes to 0, but occasionally it's started going to max (arguably more annoying).

I was trying to take a picture of a tower + building that I'm going to be working on, but I had a tough time getting the camera to focus before it would rattle off several out of focus pictures. I would hold the camera up and it would click, click, click, click taking several out of focus pictures, plus several of the ground as I lower the phone from camera position and start pressing one of the volume buttons to try to break it out of it's strange cycle.

Variance: combining the volume bug with trying to stream audio over 3G makes for a LOT of silent time, and because the phone is in my pocket I often can't tell if it's because I need to re-buffer or because the volume plummeted on its own. If I walked in more crowded areas I'd feel very self conscious about the amount of time I have with my hand held to the side of my pants as I hit the Vol + button hoping for the best.

Def get the volume button fixed

Until then, just use touch screen to take pics instead

aceium,

didn't i reply to you about that issue? was anything i said applicable?

You did reply, Yeti. But I can't find the post for the life of me.

I think that you had been talking about the Volume Up button acting strangely, but at the time it didn't sound like the same problem I was having so I didn't think too much of it. Now the problem has spread from primarily the volume down button to now affecting both. If you have found success in beating this somehow, I'm all ears.

If you could somehow regurgitate that post I'd love to look at it agian.

if you set the phone to mute does any of this occur? i'm guessing not but might be wrong.

anyway i basically solved it by flicking the switch on the side to mute and using a jailbreak solution to manually decide when i want volume. so now i just double press on the clock at the top to mute/unmute. i'd recommend doing this with a new phone really anyway, so much can go wrong when you use the physical buttons too much.

try using a brush too to clean out that mute switch too.
i didn't mention in that post that it did go haywire with the volume too. it would just go to zero and fight me meaning i couldn't put it back up etc. v similar symptoms. but i guess if toggling mute doesn't solve this (and i'm assuming it doesn't or you'd probably have said) then this isn't gonna work.

It still does this even with the mute switch set to mute. To be sure I just took my phone out, set it to mute, and unlocked the screen. Went from full volume -> right one cue.

I've been wondering if jailbreaking could help, but it seems like more of a hardware issue. Also, I haven't seen too much in these threads that makes me believe unlocking iOS 6 is easy/pain-free.

Thanks for digging that up, though.

Take it to apple store after backing up and get a new one

I took it to the Apple store back in November and they told me there wasn't anything they could do because at that time it was already four weeks out of warranty. Last time I checked Apple's support website, it would be $200 for a replacement.

My wifi hasn't left one bar, whether it be at home, work, Starbucks or the resort I was at last week.
The speed still seems fine, but is this something I should look into?

Had always been a lifelong iphone fan without any desire to try anything else. Friend got galaxy note 2 and told me he insta sold his iphone. I tried out his note 2 -- bigger and better quality HD screen felt like a good upgrade, apps seemed just as good, and more RAM. Another notable improvement I liked was the ease of putting movies or tv shows onto the phone. Just plugging the phone in with USB and no program needing to pop up was able to drag and drop full length 1080hp HD movies onto phone and watch in just minutes. Could obviously figure out how to do it on iphone with a google search and downloading some program, but who feels like doing that. Probably switching soon.

Yeh i've been doing some googling and it seems apple don't like Bose headphones. I have the QC15s and must say i'm going to be pretty gutted if i get home, try the apple headphones and the volume is louder with them than it is with the bose...

As an aside Sleep cycle really is as good as people say it is, used it twice now and both times have been woken within 10 minutes of alarm time and felt great both times.

These headphones are simply amazing.

- Their technical details are very close to that of the Dr. Dre headphones at only the 1/6 of its hefty £120 price tag.
- Their noise cancelling is very good while the music produced is simply breath-taking.
- Its rich deep bass sound produced is as good at higher pitches.
- Its appearance is very aesthetically pleasing even quite cool.
- It is very comfortable even after long periods and it stays in your ears unlike many other headphones.

Nice one, cheers for the heads up.

I'd prefer Apple to just hot fix this or whatever they need to do but at £12.99 I'll definitely give those a shot.

cheers!

If you want louder, get ones with more sensitivity

3db sensitivity increase = half the watts needed for same volume

So 92db headphones will need half the juice of 89db cans...95db ones would need 1/4 the watts

Or just buy a headphone amp if you really like what you got

Headphone amp you say... Interesting. Yeh the headphones were like $500 so i would like to be able to use them if at all possible.
