No, not a level. NASA's missions haven't done much besides stick it to the Russians. However some of the technology that was developed for missions have definitely helped but it's not as big of a deal as NASA would like you to believe.

On a daily basis way more people benefit from Apple than NASA when it comes to technological achievements. Apple started the personal computing revolution as well as the smartphone/tablet revolution which fundamentally changed the way our world works today and changed how we live our lives. Not to mention the enormous global economic impact Apple has by being the world's largest company.

7am worked fine for the 4 when I did it 2 years ago, but I heard the 4S was a mess.

If you wait, you might risk having to wait 2 weeks or so for your phone. That's what happened last year. Preorders quickly went to a 2 week delay and then longer.

To be safe, you should get on right at 3am.

anyone have experience with going into the store( sprint or at&t not apple) on release day of the previous gen i phones and getting one? we probably going to just try and go to store early on the 21st.

That would be your best bet over going to the Apple Store. Much less crowded. I would get there about 2 hours ahead of time though.

How does it work if you buy directly through apple and already have a Verizon plan? They force you on to one of their non unlimited plans to activate the phone? I am I customer with a pre existing unlimited plan.

This depends on supplies but set the alarm for 2:50 and don't be shutout. I'm going to get both the White and Black 32gb and flip the one I like less.

I'm Canadian so we get unlocked IPhones from the Apple.ca site. Downside is we get raped on the price. $899 plus tax for 64gb

Does the policy on upgrades vary from carrier to carrier? I'm on AT+T and I bought an iPhone 4s around when it came out last year, will I be able get this at the now at this non-ownage price?

That thing Verizon is doing with the data plan seems ridiculous. Who makes up these rules?

thought about setting alarm for 3am, decided i'd try my luck at 5 when I woke up.

Good thing my 12 month old had other ideas and woke me up at 2:50

black 16gb I always get the 32gb and never listen to the 16gb of music I put on so I'll save the $100 this time

No, you want be able to get the subsidized price right now. I think you're eligible for that at 20 months but check with AT&T to be sure.

Surprised you folks didn't already know how Verizon's unlimited deal. I knew about that about 4-6 months ago. I read MacRumors everyday and they've been talking about that for a while now. By deal, I mean making you pay full price to keep unlimited data.

did it make you choose a data plan? according to at&t my data is unlimited, but when i try to reserve the phone on the apple site using my at&t info it is making me choose either the 300mb/3gb/5gb+ hot spot plan...

Just got myself a white 32gb iphone 5. Almost contemplated on 64gb considering how I only have 1.7gb left in this 32gb I have right now, but i figure ill just stop taking so many damn pictures and save $100. I figure 64gbs also depreciate faster than 32gb, but it's just an unproven theory...

Anyways, funny how all the online websites are down still but I was able to order from my apple store on my phone in 5mins. Good thing I checked 2p2 orelse I wouldn't have been able to get one... Shout out to 4 High!!
