The devs only found out about the new res the same time everyone else found out. They also don't give any priority to devs for device purchases. Even if everything went according to plan (wake up and order at 3am) and testing the app on actual hardware only took a day (unlikely), Apple approvals still take 7-12 days. It's probably coming, but will take some time.

Well you can just use the google maps web app if that's the deal breaker.

Yeah, this. Everyone's making too big a deal about this. It takes two extra clicks to get Google Maps on the iPhone 5. Even a moron like me can do it:

I'm surprised by all the love for street view, where do you guys find yourself needing it? I've used street view probably three times ever, and never on my phone, only when I'm bored and looking at mansions I plan on buying.

My poker journal ported over fine. Unfortunately it didn't change my recent results.

When getting directions to a place you've never been its helpful to see what the building front looks like

Sure, there's 3d maps but not nearly as detailed

iOS 6 maps is just an inferior product, there's no way around it

I don't see how anyone could have any problems with the new connector outside of having to buy new accessories. The old connector was a poorly designed piece of crap.

Go into safari, google "google maps", touch the link for google maps, touch the middle button on the bottom of the screen and touch the "add to home screen" button.

you may be able to get someone at the AT&T store to override that, or even call in and complain that you want to upgrade now but want the discount and they may give it to you. so id check with someone at store or call before you drop 650. dont hurt to try..
update on this, was able to call in and ask for the full upgrade price. at first they said no there was nothing they could do but i sweet talked a little to the girl and made sure to mention how long i had been a customer/not miss payments/my current phone has water damage i need the upgrade now/etc and she said ok i appreciate all of that and you being a customer, one minute will i speak to the manager...

came back and let me order it over the phone for 399 instead of the 675 or whatever, wewt.

I like the new connector a lot. It seems cute and efficient and not as flimsy. However... MY reason for being annoyed is because I have SO many of the connector things from various Apple products - the 3 Nanos I had, 2 iPhones, plus the extras connectors I had bought to have in my purse, etc. So I basically had a bunch around the house and stuff. So now I have to replace them all. Having said that, it's really only $21.99 each, since it's just the cord thing (adaptor cord?..not sure what they're even called) that I have to buy, and not the part that plugs into the wall, since I'll just use a few of my 1298321 of them.

Thanks for the help. I'll make sure to throw my printer in my backpack when I head to school along with my laptop. Also who on earth uses mapquest?

Yeah that's what I've been doing. Just sucks that you can't use it for contacts or just type in the name of the place (ie "Current Location" to "McDonalds") and have it take you to the nearest location.

Hi all,

Need your help!

I currently have a iPhone 4 that will be sold within a few days. Until I receive my iPhone 5 in a few weeks, I'll be using my iPhone 3 in the meantime.

How do I get my contacts from my iPhone 4 to my iPhone 3?

thanks

It's $199 fully subsidized, isn't it?

So you sweet talked her into getting it sure, at a discount, but not at the fully subsidized price? First, that sounds kind of odd that they can do that, second, how far away was your upgrade with subsidized price date?

Note: I tried calling Verizon (again) - my fully subsidized upgrade date is next week. And they *still* won't let me order it now at the subsidized price. I have to wait. BS.

Ah.. thanks for the clarification - well then, good job, sir!

And f you Verizon - they claim they won't let me order early at subsidized price (again, a week til my upgrade date) because of an Apple policy. I now do not believe them.

You think I didn't try that?! They know I have to pay the early termination penalty if I do that (or carry 2 mobile subscriptions) and called my bluff. These Verizon *******s are (at least for me) way more difficult to work over than Time Warner or DirecTV. Dicks.
