If my friend wants this but isn't a degen that will be up at 2AM to order it, am I capable of ordering it and paying and having it sent to their address for them? I can't remember the process this entails with regards to phone #/billing etc? I believe everything would be fine as nothing really happens until they open it up and plug it in etc?

This phone release brings me a windfall of good fortune as it were. My sister wants to get one and leave her android behind, so she is gifting me her less than 1-year old HTC Vivid. My wife, while she LOVES her Galaxy Note, finds it difficult to deal with her inability to stuff it into one of her pockets. At first she was going to keep both and switch sims as desired, until I revealed to her that the sims are incompatible. She thinks she will get the iPhone 5 thusly because she feels pretty strongly about putting her phone in her pocket. As such I will also be gifted a Samsung Galaxy Note.

I am pretty stoked about the iPhone 5 being released.

How? It was more inline with the rumors than any previous Iphone. The only credible rumor that didn't come true was the location of the head phone jack. The biggest thing missing that the S3 has is NFC. I'm not regretting getting an S3 either but this release was the definition of exactly meeting expectations.

Did it end up on the bottom? I didn't see a picture just the TWIT live coverage of the keynote, they said the jack on the touch was on the bottom but not the phone, that's what I was going off of.

I am by no means blown away, but I don't know what else people wanted here.

Like kerowo said, this is the definition of meets expectations. Their biggest problem this time around vs 3G to 4g is that people has such high expectations going into it and things are less secret now then they were in the past.
