Shipping companies don't make money by keeping spare planes all over the globe and switching re-routing them to immediately cover all mechanical failures.

This happened to me with a computer and it turned out to be a plane crash :/

Ugh, I dropped my 6 in the lake and I'm using my 5 with ios10, and the missing lock screen swipe to bring up the 'unlock' feature is gone. I have to click the home button to bring it up and I forget every time

Yeah, I'm 3/3 on iPhones and iPads in the water and surviving after a day in rice. All at least 2 year older models.

nope, I was at anchor and it fell ~4' to the bottom but I got it. Rice didn't work at all, I think it's a brick now

Yeah having to go back to a 5 was pretty bad after getting to a later iteration.

I sold a dead phone for way more than I expected, bidding was slow but ended up recouping over $100 on the phone. Some people freaked me out about security issues afterwards so I'm still not sure about the safety of it; I wasn't able to format the phone since it died so I don't know if someone would be able to get anything off it. I deactivated it and set it to erase on Find my iPhone or whatever but still not sure if someone could pull data off it.

Yeah i put the phone in airplane mode night before last and it was still on 100 perfect after 12 hours of standby. Today I took it off airplane mode and dropped from 100 percent to 90 in 7h50m of standby.

I had a genius bar appointment tonight but moved it to Monday night to give it a few more days. I'm not happy with the battery but I guess I could live with it for now.

you kinda answered this already but it wasn't that clear - the battery stats are not showing a smoking gun? by that i mean the individual battery usage per app

Today it's showing Snapchat using 38 percent in the last 24 hours with 56 min on screen and 1.2 hrs background. It had those same numbers before I charged the phone earlier this morning and then went to sleep.

I think sometimes the first few charge cycles aren't as good as usual, so you may just find it working better after the first week

Why does my 7+ show the lock screen when I pick it up or touch it certain ways?

Can you disable that?

settings -> display & brightness -> raise to wake

only works on 6s+. the best new feature of ios10 imo.

I hated it and turned it off. It would come on randomly when i was carrying it around it my hand or had it in the front pocket of my shirt.
