With respect to maps. Google should have their own maps out ASAP.

As for upgrading from 4s, most people I know are on the opposite cycle. Owned the 3g, skipped 3gs, bought 4, skipped 4s and now buying the 5. I like this cycle much better as the jump from the "s" generation of each phone to the next number generation tends to be more changes.

But this way the "S cycle" people get to listen to the 5 users bitch about Maps for 6 months, then a few months of hype, then bam we get the 5S which is everything the 5 should have been all along.

Delivered and setting up now. I like it. Noticeably lighter/ thinner.

Tried the new headphones with my old phone and they are great. Way more low end and more comfortable.

I should have looked at the time of your post. I thought you were talking about going in tomorrow morning to get the phone, not today.

Loving how light and fast this is. Was happy to show up at 12.30pm with no queue and walked out with mine 5 minutes later.

Just for curiosity, I rode past a AT&T, Verizon and Sprint store this morning around 6am to see what kind of lines they had. AT&T had about 25 people, Verizon 15 and Sprint 3.

Either way, wish you luck on selling it for a big profit.

3 store (UK). Maybe it's just a smallish store I was at and it would have been worse elsewhere.

Being that I'm in the S cycle I'm fine with this. Also, all the apps will have been updated to support the new resolution by then

Playing around with the new maps some more, and why do you have to completely back out of and restart directions if you want to swap between driving directions and walking directions? Why isn't there just an easy way to switch between the two?? (and lol @ providing a transit option then going to a 3rd party app download, and providing yelp reviews but requiring the app download the read the full comments. No public transit is prob the biggest gripe for most people)

all of my phones are due for upgrade or almost due for upgrade so I am reaching a window where I can leave at&t without penalty and am considering a cheaper better option(t-moblile or some prepay). idk if my friends are down for another year either.

at&t has also recently given me flack for tethering without paying for it so I am also going to have to pay slightly more which would probably worth it with lte...

any advice would be appreciated

Is there a way to restore just contacts and not everything else from my old phone? I think I am getting some errors because of the scumbags who stole my old iphone.

Sigh, apparently upgrading on SERO plans is phone/internet only - what a waste of 2 hours

Very stupid question, because I am the worst with technology and probably don't deserve to be using the iphone 5, but...

Currently I am using the 4S and going to pick up the 5 at some point in the day. However, I did not update my 4S software because it said, "You need at least 2.5 GB to do this" and I only have 1.8. The iphone 5 that I ordered is 32 gigs, so all will be fine storage space wise.

My question is... if I create a backup of my 4S onto itunes using the "old" software, will plugging in the 5 and restoring from backup work properly and get everything transitioned okay??

Hopefully people can understand what I'm asking. I had a HELL of a time going from 3GS to 4S and transferring and was on the phone for 2.5 hrs with a nice Apple support guy, and hoping to avoid that this time.

Your best to update it, otherwise you'll be in a right state as you'll not be able to sync your 'old' phone to your 'new' phone.

Delete videos/music (on that iphone, not from itunes) to clear enough space then just add the music/videos back. That's your easiest bet. If that doesn't create enough space for you to upgrade. Post back.
