Really looking forward to Lasso btw, it's just streaming service overload that's kept me away.
This reminds me I need to get signed up for HBO Max soon. Half off ad free for 6 months promo ends on 9/25. Any better promo I'm missing?

Had a really bad knee day and somehow played the round of my life at a short pitch n putt near my house, I shot +8 somehow basically playing scratch golf after #7. I hit 14 or 15 greens in reg and a lot of the bogeys were from 3 or 4 putts, fml, I need to practice that. I’m such a terrible putter, except one really random 50 footer i dropped today for birdie.

Drive for show, putt for dough. Nice executive course jmakin. Looking from satellite it's always interesting how much land golf courses take up, even in densely populated areas.

Yea, it's a very easy and short layout, but is a decent course for the price. I can't play anything longer right now because of my knee. They have pretty good food and cheap beer. I wish it was a little more challenging, but the way my irons were today I don't think it would've mattered if there were more hazards. I don't know what was going on, usually my GIR stat is pretty bad

lol very cool, jmakin

golf is an awesome mystery

Hustlers game baby. I remember reading Limons thread on hustling high rollers from the Cali card rooms on the golf course. Limon said he couldn’t hit a drive over 200 yards but had an excellent short game. Said it was perfect for hustling as you could always say your just getting lucky on the chip shots and putts and no one suspects your hustling when you hit 200 yard drives.

Awesome, I played a little par 3 today with my 7 year old. Always fun when you tee off on hole one by the good ole boys hanging out and the kiddo hits it like 10 yards from the green and head on while my dumbass hits it 25 yards over the green.

I might be late to the party....

....when did EL Diablo forum die? I only noticed because I always notice the link on the left, but gone. I doubt there was any traffic there anyways.

It died when people lost interest in wet shaving.

I mean being in a rush obviously happens to everyone, but it shouldn't be the goal.

I don't want to spend 15 minutes doing something that offers a poorer result than just using a Mach 3 and get it done in 2 minutes.

It's like hipster bowling alley bars that make you keep your own score. Or expensive watches that need to be wound. Bunch of malarkey.

I find it to be a pleasant experience that allows me a pocket of time to listen to 15 minutes of a podcast while cleaning my face up. Shrug.

Efficiency is great, but it isn't to be confused with "get through every single task as quickly as humanly possible."

Late 30s, but I did join a Elks Lodge for a year while younger and it was great mix of olds and hipsters(not me).

You spend 15 minutes shaving?

15 minutes on the toilet is nice to have before getting going for the day.

An Elks Lodge membership sounds lovely.

Spoiler:
Narrator: Not really.

It's probably not quite 15. Maybe 10? I don't time it. I was just going with the 15 minutes that he put out there.

Point being, it's a good opportunity to carry out a necessary task in a leisurely way.

Is this real?

I went to a keep-your-own-score bowling alley ~20 years ago, but it was in Pullman, WA. It felt a lot less like deliberate hipster **** and a lot more like it was just a relic that never bothered upgrading its technology.

I didn't hate it.
