I ended up being a mormon converter, therre were some pretty cool college parties then everyone ended up going down to bourbon/frenchman st in downtown nola and it was a pretty crazy scene even though it took a ****ing hour to get a tacxi back

All in all was a great night and a pretty solid costume for $15 and last day.

Today should be the day for pics. Best costume I saw at the bar I went to was a guy and girl as Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett, made totally from scratch. Saw about 10 fairies, and ZERO joker costumes. I'm assuming a "everyone is going as the joker" backlash.

So I walked around the west village last night, it was a nice night, a lot of good costumes. Saw a bunch of Jokers, some done better than others. Surprisingly, saw exactly zero Sarah Palins. I was Dwight from the Office and it was moderately successful. I passed another guy dressed like Dwight and he came right up to me and said sternly, "Identity theft is NOT a joke!" So I said, damn, wish I had thought of that, you win.

Best thing I saw all night was a guy dressed as the Karate Kid. All of a sudden, there came a shout, "Hey! You!" and two guys, who clearly did NOT know the guy dressed as the Karate Kid, ran up in front of him and confronted him. They were dressed as Cobra Kai. Karate Kid guy grinned for a split-second, then put on his game face, said, "Let's do this" and went into the Crane. Cobra Kai kid lunges forward, Karate Kid kicks, Cobra Kai collapses dramatically in the middle of the street. Uproarious cheers from onlookers and passers-by.

Awesome.

I hope you remembered to piss urself every now and then to get that authentic feel.

Pretty much an uneventful night at the bar. Some good outfits that you can check out here: http://www.myspace.com/lewsgrillandbar . Two jokers, two Dorothy's (Wizard of Oz), one Joe the plumber and zero Palins. Plenty of slutty whatevers.

At the end of the night was all the excitement. My bar is usually a pretty tame place. I can count the number of fights in the last two years on one hand. After I turned up the lights and we started to close up, I noticed a couple of guys jawing outside on out patio, so I run out to see whats going on. By the time I get there, I see a guy get decked and I rush in to break it up. A bunch of regulars and myself get in between the two guys and the fights over except for some jawing back and forth.

So as the two combatants head towards their separate vehicles, the guy who landed the punches left and the other guy (who had a hell of a shiner) was still wandering around with his friends. I'm trying to calm him down and tell him it's over an he should just go home. He finally gets in the drivers seat and his buddy who seems more sober gets in the back. I try to tell the sober (relatively) to drive, but they aren't paying attention to what I say.

So the guy starts up his car, an Escalade, and guns it right towards all the people outside that were breaking up the fight. I was standing by the drivers side and he missed me by a couple of feet, but I could see the people were hemmed in by two cars. Before he hits anyone, he hits the brakes and turns the wheel. A couple of people were pushed a bit by the car, but got out out of the way. The driver hits the gas again and plows into a parked car, just missing some people. The car is shoved over a bit and the Escalade completes his turn and takes off out of the parking lot. Here's the car he hit:



The cops are called and that's a whole different ordeal, but I'm just relieved that no one got hurt.

I went to Bill's Karaoke for a bit and unfortunately had to see a Palin complete with prosthetic pig nose and wrap of bullets. to politically based costumes.

Haha I used this line last night. I saw a guy dressed as a cowboy leaving the party as we were coming in. I dropped the line, and he was so surprised that a random stranger basically just called him gay that he kinda stumbled and said, "ha ha uhh....yeah I'm not sure which one I am." Everyone in my group chuckled a little and said that was pretty mean of me. I guess I'm just an a-hole.

I only saw 1 joker, and it was "dwight-as-joker". Awesome.
