Poker is dying, forum traffic has been cut in half, it's only a matter of time before 2+2 dies (probably years). What's seem like a forum that would be around forever will in fact not be around forever.

When the site started, were all the subforums as they are now or were they added progressively over time? If so, what were the first main subforums?

I used to always look forward to Sundays (early morning Mondays in Aus) and the Sunday threads in MTTc. I used to go to bed early and get up excited to play. That's all but died now since BF and I barely play at all now.

Have you guys talked about alternatives to poker/gambling to focus on?

2+2 seems to have a pretty specific demographic that isn't going away anytime soon even if the poker specific part is.

Have you guys thought about how you could move away from poker into other possible fields? I know there's been some movement on Fantasy Sports, but I'm also thinking things like prediction markets or even non gambling things like E-Sports.

Or even doing something not specifically tied to the forums.

I've always thought an app/site dedicated to tracking and resolving prop bets would be fun. People enter prop bets through the site. Log what happens. The site tracks things like lifetime profit/loss. Offers voting for resolving disagreements. Etc.

If you guys developed something like that you'd have a huge head start given the reach you have right now with the forums.

I'm not saying you should do this app, but if you're not willing to do anything other than publishing/forums marketed to poker players the site is definitely going to die.

But it still seems like you have lots of time to take advantage of the traffic you have now to grow into something that survives for a long time.
