Ah ok that makes sense I think I am a bit of an anomaly when it comes to the cold, most women I know like the heating way up. I'm exactly the same as you in regards to the bedroom. I can't sleep with the heating on. I always feel exhausted if I am staying somewhere and they have heating on at night. I mean I live in Australia though so the coldest it's getting at night is -4 or whatever and that's outside so obviously being inside it's considerably warmer. Good insulation helps a lot!

Hmm, chilly and rainy in the winter, but 40 degrees in the summer in NorCal...?

Livermore? Does it rain much in the winter around Sacramento?

Am I doing it right?
Had faith and listened to the entire thing. Was not disappointed.

Nice I'm 10% understandable lol. Fwiw when my bf and I travel OS to non ESL countries I am generally the one who can communicate better with the people there. I'm blaming the microphone.

What the hell is a non-ESL country?
11-09-2017 , 06:52 AM
Rexx - what language were you speaking?

Bogan

18.5 inches per year in Sac. All in winter.

Sacramento Valley heat, and the thermal updraft it creates, is the reason why SF is cold in summer.

Don't let them do that. I can understand you perfectly well.

Thanks Lapka. Just a wee bit of anxiety crashing in. All good
11-10-2017 , 03:59 AM
Rexx - just keep practicing, you'll get there. English is not an easy language to learn. Maybe try out Duolingo or watching more English language tv/movies? Wouldn't worry too much about it unless the job involves speaking. Your written English is quite good!

Chop,

No worries. Ty for the feedback. I actually thought you were recording from a dungeon while planning a spree killing but nothing has been reported on the news So I assume we are all good

Rexx -

Pretty sure you're safe for now. As you can see, the dungeon jailors are waging psychological warfare on me by tying up my towels in little blue bows and restricting my smoothie options to just mixed berry or strawberry/banana, but I'm staying strong. May try to fashion a skeleton key from some seashells to escape at some point if the WiFi signal gets too bad.

Thank you for responding in writing so I'd be able to understand. You may want to consider using real-time Google Translate app for the interview, tho.

Chop,

Dungeons are a lot prettier in your neck of the woods! I don't need google translate we have shazza translate over here. It works really well!

Is that weird shutter-style thing a door into a different dimension? Or is it just an oddly-placed marrow storage cabinet?
11-10-2017 , 10:23 AM
Yeah don't worry Rexx as long as your interviewer has exactly Lapka's level of English proficiency your interview will go great!
11-10-2017 , 10:24 AM
What position is I having? Pay many rubles, yes?
11-10-2017 , 10:55 AM
Dear DZ,

seems that you need some help with your English.

"What position do I have? How much does it cost?"

If you need any further help, you can just PM me. No need to embarrass yourself in front of whole OOT.

edit: If you need some help with your Russian, just ask.

HT - after you post yourself saying "I am Ray" via speakpipe, I'll let you know what's going on with the weird shutter-style thing.
11-10-2017 , 02:17 PM
I’ve tried to get speakpipe to work several times, but it can’t seem to get access to the mic on my iPhone. After digging around in settings for a bit, I see no obvious solution.
