Howard's posting up a storm in Politics today, but contained to a single thread afaict

Yes: but that’s just the “did you vote” thread which isn’t centered on right-left debates, but rather about the fact of voting.

Now that’s not autocorrect. *** No (supafey is not a good poster) vember Official LC thread ***

I’ve never spoken to this woman, just electronic correspondence with my name clearly visible.

Tempted to start the next email with “Akio”.

Pwned.

So does that mean I should just run with it? I asked her that 3 hours ago. No response yet.

Should the benefit year be "100" and not 2018? Is also what I asked her. No reply yet.

Grrrrr

In the spirit of Festivus, I present some non-politics Politics posts:

Anybody ever try freezing croissants itt?

I'm dubious but I've got 12 large ones and the internet tells me they're only good for a week in the fridge (unsurprising) and that freezing them is an option.

Yes. Afterwards took them out of the frèzer for few hours and put for few min on the toaster. It has such special grid to make buns and so warm. Mnjaaam!

just eat them all

Freezer >>>>>>>>>>>> fridge for bread. Refrigerating bread makes it last longer but it goes stale and taste like crap. Better to just throw it out than eat it once you've put it in the fridge. Freeze it and leave it out to thaw for a few hours before eating and it's as fresh as the day you got it. I assume freezer >>>>>>>> fridge for croissants as well. If I bought a dozen, I'd freeze everything I wasn't eating that day, and then thaw one every day, and maybe pop it in a toaster oven for a few minutes just before eating.

Where's krunic, he's the pastry chef? I wonder what he thinks of people eating refrigerator croissants.

I bought one of those toasters with a brotchen grill when I lived in Germany.

It wasn't a nice topper like this one:

It was a cheap fold out, like this:

How cheap? The wires rested on the plastic housing, not the metal toaster frame. So when they go hot, they melted their way through the plastic and fell down.

It was this incident, as well as shelf toilets, that got me to re-assess everything I thought I knew about Germans being great engineers.

ive never had that experience, I just pop fridge bread in the microwave for a few seconds and its fine. If its been in the fridge a really long time just throw a damp paper towel over it, good as new.

Thats with standard store bought loaf of bread, maybe its diff with homemade bread.

I don't bake bread so not sure how it works with homemade bread, but putting store-bought bread in the fridge is a huge life leak (though eating store-bought bread in the first pace may be an even bigger leak).

I completely agree...not that I eat bread anymore. Bread just doesn't taste the same once it's been refrigerated, even though the bag is sealed. It doesn't taste stale necessarily but the freshness goes.

This doesn't happen when you freeze bread though.

Re: storebought bread - there's a huge difference between 'factory' bread and 'bakery' bread, though both can be purchased at a grocery store.

maybe yall just buy ****ty bread and ****ty bread tastes diff once its been fridged?
11-07-2018 , 04:58 PM
A better plan is to not acquire more croissants that you can consume in a reasonable amount of time.
11-07-2018 , 04:59 PM
costco bro

Premium bread is more negatively affected by refridgeration as compared to cheap bread.

If you threw some wonder bread in the fridge, you would hardly taste a difference assuming you toasted it afterwards.

On the subject of croissants in Germany, I wish there were branches of Le Crobag in the US.

Its not the epitome of croissants but it blows away most examples in the US.
