That's a Festivus miracle! We can all post who we think are against us, and all post we are against!

Well, if I don't have any enemies, maybe this will make some: I'm not a fan of festivus. I don't think I've ever participated or ever will.

It's better than the "who is the greatest poster" thing though.

I've got this thing on Sunday but I'm not sure what to bring. Thoughts on gifts for a celebration that a couple is "adoption-ready."
11-23-2018 , 10:16 PM
That's weird. I'd just bring wine or whatever for a dinner party. They'll probably have another celebration if/when they get a kid and treat that more like a baby-shower/kid-shower. If "adoption-ready" means they already know which kid and it's imminent, then I guess it is a shower.

I think it just means they've decided they're going to adopt. My post was supposed to provoke gender-reveal-party level outrage. micro, you're too damn sincere for OOT, that's why nobody here likes you. You probably don't even like sports.

I am definitely overly earnest.

I mean you have to tell us what the hell adoption ready means first.

Got it. 30 rack of Pabst.

I went to a restaurant that marked items as "gluten-friendly." I was very confused. That's not really a legit stand-in for "gluten-free."

I, personally, am quite gluten-friendly. I am especially friendly to gluten-based beer.

Yeah, I think you needed this info in there to get the desired effect.

Apparently, just getting approved to be eligible for a kid can take around a year and is a lot of work. So, I suppose that could kind of be an accomplishment worthy of celebration.

On the other hand, if it's literally, "We've decided we're going to adopt!", then the correct answer is the best troll gift that you can come up with. And if you can't come up with anything good, then you don't go.

I will try to get clarification before the celebration.

It sounds like a yuppy nightmare regardless. I would be trying to Larry David my way out of that ****.

I just went to a "wine" tasting and the guy selling whiskey kept correcting me and telling me it was spirits.

Being invited and going to an adoption ready party is so Greg.

On a more interesting front who's been dumpster diving and what sort of stuff have you snaffled?

This is something that a parent absolutely should do, yet also something that should never be promised.

That’s when you grab a fresh plug of red man chew and spit on the floor like Josey Whales.

Generally breads and vegetables that make for great food not bombs meals.
