Why are you all neglecting to mention the seasoned salt container? Sounds like you want falcon to become failcon TBH
11-18-2018 , 04:51 PM
Mark, PM me your address and I will send you a couple of filters!
OT, I'm sure Failcon knows how to tamp

Maaaan.... cucumber...... ts...

A piece of paper towel or paper handkerchief is the right choice.

And I totally like the idea.

Yes, of course.

HT, the new H17.

A few years ago, I swore I would never, ever drive to Vegas again, so naturally I did just that last week. I could not take my eyes off the Ivanpah power facility as it looked so much like something out of a video game.

It occurred to me that that would be a nice failed spot to try to kill James Bond when there is a Diamonds remake and Wint & Kidd (played by Penn & Teller) tie him to a receiving panel and he has to escape before the sunlight cooks him.

I am standing in a grocery store with a single item. In front of me in line two incredibly fat women (obviously mom an daughter) with two grocery carts overflowing. I ask if they would allow me in front of them. (It is pretty standard here. I do it often and I also let people in front of me if I have a lot.) They let me in front of them but pull such a face and roll the eyes so that I am about to say that I see that they are in a hurry too and I can then also wait. But they start bitching about me in English in this moment. I am soooo caught by surprise, that I just listen and express my overwhelming gratitude to them in English when I leave. Now I am unsure did they want me to get what they are saying or did they assume that since it is in Germany I won't understand them.

It doesn't seem safe to assume people don't understand English in Germany. But, if they were Germans who were speaking German before, I guess that's what they were thinking.

lapka,
You are a bad person for asking to cut in front of them.
11-19-2018 , 11:57 AM
if people with a lot of stuff are in a line then choose a different line
11-19-2018 , 12:01 PM
It's pretty common to let people ahead of you but I've never seen someone ask.
11-19-2018 , 12:03 PM
The English was obviously native language. Judging by the carts also USA#1 girls. I am sorry. But it was soooo fitting in USA#1 diet stereotype: A lot of soda and chips. Zero veg. A bunch of preprocessed crap.

I almost felt bad when they did this eyes rolling. But am somehow pretty pleased with myself now.

It is a supermarket with only one line.

That is why I somehow almost felt bad. If they are may be only visiting here and are not accustomed to that, then I understand that it can seem annoying to be asked to let someone in front of you.

If I had also hear them speaking english upfront, I would have never asked.
11-19-2018 , 12:13 PM
Should have slowly filled out a check for your one item.
11-19-2018 , 12:19 PM
I was going to suggest pretending that you forgot an item and telling them to wait while you go get it.
11-19-2018 , 12:23 PM
What did they say about you?

This seems less than well thought out.

same, but I like that she asked, I mean you cant count on two fat slag Muricans to be thinking of anyone other than themselves. Maybe it makes them realize there are other people in this world, or gives them a chance to do something nice for someone which is probably a rarity for them. As I express that tho I realize how stupid a thought that is, especially considering their reaction is exactly like you expect it to be from the type of person who would never even think to let you in line in front of them.

Mostly Im jealous tho, because I would just stand there and silently hate them in my head because I don't have the balls to use societal pressure to my advantage in situations where its not the norm.

What was for me most surprising is that they really talked like I am not there. My mouth was open in bewilderment and amusement.

I mean.... If I would be so annoyed by anything, I would rather say "no" from the beginning and be relaxed then. It simplifies incredibly all human interaction to just speak your mind.

I did this, too. Didn't 'sign' the ticket or check the box admitting guilt. Check got deposited, and after 10 (15?) years, if there was a record, it's since dropped off. This was in Nevada, out of state for me.
