It is truly remarkable how that attorney sounds exactly like you. Clearly an intelligent barrister.

How much was the quoted retainer? The lawyers I know aren’t taking civil litigation matters for less than $5k up front.

quoting your own words back to you isn't libel. That said, I myself would not put up a site like that. I leave 2p2 as and with 2p2. But I also don't post rape fantasies, threaten anyone or their families, or wish enemies got cancer or covid.

He will likely be taking the case on contingency. In which case I will be dismissing the small claims suit and going after them in superior court where the damages will be far far more.

Only the best attorneys are willing to take libel cases on contingency and then only the very best cases. This could be unprecedented damages we’re talking about here.

IIRC Babs merely stated he was concerned about (the fictitious) Sterling Korb because he hadn't heard from him and there were dangerous fires in the area. Babs never stated that he knew for a fact that (the fictitious) Korb actually died in the fires
