That is definitely one of the lamer angles by bloghead/posters from the last bunch of pages. There is no need to involve her in any way whatsoever it would seem.

This goes back to the long discussion about trainwrecking earlier ITT when Nima was defrauding California about unemployment benefits. One side of the argument says “if the graton employee is committing a crime, what’s wrong with reporting her?” The other says “this is something that most people here don’t think should be a crime, and so long as she was not affirmatively involved with defrauding fubster, leave her well enough alone.”

I don’t have any strong view on this point.

I've struggled with employment issues the past few years so I'm sensitive on the point of getting someone fired.

Yeah I think that's basically it. I think it's reasonable to expect that on 2p2 people are OK with ignoring things that "shouldn't be a crime" (according to general 2p2 sentiment) like sports betting, and that they'd be interested in punishing those who hurt the online gambling or sports betting ecosystem by scamming/frauding/etc.

It seems very unlikely that someone is an active reader or poster on 2p2 and has a holy war against vicious crimes like online gambling or sports betting and believes that the Graton employee is equally deserving of punishment as babs. Similarly it seems pretty clear that the only reason anyone has brought up this person is to troll babs and try to be maximally punitive to him because they know he is terrified of her getting involved (deservedly so for many reasons).

He deserves all of the trolling and then some. The max-punishment raises a different issue, though: her involvement is, as you say, maximally punitive to him, but also at potentially great cost to someone (her) against whom this board has no particular beef, and it’s not as though her conduct puts innocents at risk on a go-forward basis (as, say, driving drunk would).

But if the Graton employee is working on behalf of an organized crime syndicate, she is part of an organization that puts individuals at way more risk than Babs does, though punishing her as an ends in itself would be as pointless as punishing the drug dealer on the corner.

In regards to the Graton employee, how can anyone trust anything babs has said on the subject?

It seems dubious at best to get her involved in this at all. And like was said, if she is truly taking part in an operation to take bets outside the casino (perhaps providing less vig) then who cares?

In short, I think we can conclude that (veiled) threats to retaliate through this woman should be frowned upon.

Why are people talking about reporting this to the authorities.

Reporting a wannabe sportbettor/bookie that is a huge degen that scammed, stole and stiffed other bettors/bookies etc? Seems like even if anyone cared, it would be a huge waste of time.

If I were you I would write a timeline of everything that happened and answering all the questions . I would not leave anything out and I would air on the side of not trying to defend yourself or make excuses or blame anyone. Just a detailed summary with no explaining, no complaining, no attacks and no excuses. I would write it, re-read and then have someone proofread it for you.

I would not say that you have already admitted everything and there's nothing else to say. This has been requested by all the important players in this thread. If I were you I would listen to them before this readily and fairly easy option for you is made no longer available. They want to see it in writing from you, from start to finish, in one post.

Iirc only two people have threatened to report him to authorities. One is fubs, because he wanted to use it as leverage to get him to pay him back the money owed plus penalties. The other is Nat, because Nat.

The feds would consider our hunchcaps an “organized crime syndicate.” If she were connected to violent thugs who break legs to collect debts, than I’m with you. I don’t think anyone needs to go after this bookie. Nima admitted that she never stole anything and he was the one who stole. There is clearly more to the story because he lies about everything so who knows what really happened.

He put her job in jeopardy numerous times and used her having a kid as a way to protect her from Fubster contacting Graton. This was one of the more despicable things Nima has done and I don’t know if it’s even been mentioned.

All this being said she takes responsibility for her actions when she runs book out of her job and preys on addicts like Nima. I don’t think anyone should go out of their way to go after or protect her. If she’s a casualty of collateral damage it’s her fault.

That’s news to me, and I doubt Fubster has heard about it. I believe if the mystery backer exists it’s HiV, or someone else associated, and there is a lot more to the story which is why neither of them are ratting the other out. It’s also a possibility that someone told him “no one wins at sports” and gave him the idea for the sterling account so now he’s blaming them because he can’t seem to take accountability for anything.

Nima was grilled over who sterling is over and over. Why wait until 6mo later and most of the debt is paid to come up with this mystery partner?

Lying about a single mother stealing someone’s money and then putting her job in jeopardy is possibly more despicable than using the Santa Rosa fires to fake a death.

Nima takes what Nima wants and doesn’t care who gets hurt in the aftermath. He is incapable of taking responsibility for anything.
