I think I remember some posters hinting to a Beast that his count wasn't correct. A Beast ignored the warnings. You understood them. I can't be certain you knew what was coming, but as you say, it doesn't matter. A Beast was responsible for his own count, and no robbery occurred.
A gentleman might have kindly warned a Beast in a way he knew a Beast would understand. But I myself do not expect hunchcap participants to be gentlemanly; indeed, practical joking, mockery, and mild abuse are all why these things are fun.
One can make the argument that you are slightly cruel to those less talented and careful than yourself. But unethical or unfair? Never. And I would argue that mild cruelty (of the sort that Alobar and I routinely aim at one another) encourages care and discipline.
