If it did, you're also calling all of the regulars here unethical too, as not a single one stood up against you getting "robbed" in the bet. Because you weren't. You clearly lost based on some simple and unambiguous rules. Not even some kind of tricky gotcha or anything. You simply lost because you did not succeed at doing whatever the requirements were to win.

And if you had been robbed, people certainly wouldn't trust me with their money and gladly participate in contests I manage.

No. I defend you when you deserve defending. But as I remember this, you blew a rule that had been clearly articulated. I think El O El figured correctly that you were going to make the mistake you ended up making, but the mistake was yours.

I suggest you read the rules to the upcoming hunchcap with great care, and do NOT assume that you know what they are.

IIRC, Babs had to hit x points to win. He thought he hit over x and stopped. After the contest was over, I added up his results and they were less than x. Simple as that.

Might I have suspected his tally was wrong prior to that? Perhaps, but irrelevant.

Nope. Although I retain my affection for a Beast, I recognize his general unwillingness or inability to read rules carefully and follow them. He also tends towards mild mania when he perceives he has been harmed, and a fair percentage of the time, that ends up being because he's misread something. I want no part of those issues.

That may not have been the exact violation that time, it's hard to keep track of all your screw-ups there are so many. But it was something like that - as Howard said, it was a clear unambiguous loss with nothing shady or tricky involved. You lost fair and square, and nobody except you felt otherwise.

And this is exactly why I won't be dealing with you in the hunchcap. You'll be whining and bitching about issues like that one that are clear mistakes by you and not even worthy of discussion. Get someone else to put in an entry for you if you want to play.

Actually I'm pretty sure Diablo's summary is exactly what happened.

I think I remember some posters hinting to a Beast that his count wasn't correct. A Beast ignored the warnings. You understood them. I can't be certain you knew what was coming, but as you say, it doesn't matter. A Beast was responsible for his own count, and no robbery occurred.

A gentleman might have kindly warned a Beast in a way he knew a Beast would understand. But I myself do not expect hunchcap participants to be gentlemanly; indeed, practical joking, mockery, and mild abuse are all why these things are fun.

One can make the argument that you are slightly cruel to those less talented and careful than yourself. But unethical or unfair? Never. And I would argue that mild cruelty (of the sort that Alobar and I routinely aim at one another) encourages care and discipline.

ofc its not complicated to anyone with any reasonable amount of intellect. but babs is one of the dumbest ppl on the planet so it really should not be surprising that such a simple bet would utterly confound him.
