Reason: also lol @ the above reply... just perfect
The Bishop's silence and thus his seemingly lack of benevolence for a Beast is starting to make me even doubt the foundations of the LDS church. Surely, the visions of a 14yo Joseph Smith were not in vain more than two centuries ago!
It seems like he has gotten off even easier than the clerk's website would make us think. He can't go to the casino for a few weeks, so that's something, I suppose.

Incarceration in jail or prison for any appreciable length of time for a misdemeanor does not seem to be at all common, no matter what state you're in.

Yeah, but if you're going to do home incarceration just put him back on probation or drop the case. What's the point? He gets a great excuse to continue to mooch off daddy for however long this is.
I would guess that the point is that it puts an extra measure in place to reduce the chances of drunk driving for that period of time in a way that probation wouldn't. Unlike the legal limits of using unemployment payments, he doesn't just get to disregard whatever tracker they're using to ensure that he complies with house arrest.

the corrections system does not care whether he mooches off of his daddy and their goal is not to prevent him from doing so
