Lisa works at the MGM Grand...
LISA
(apologetically)
I'm a "Dorothy".

Oh... a Dorothy.
MIKE
Well... we're not in Kansas anymore.
Another lead balloon. Uncomfortable silence.

What do you guys do?
MIKE
I'm a comedian.
More uncomfortable silence.
OT,
Are you saying this is how you feel when you think I’m trying to write a joke but it’s not funny at all?
Or this is how you feel when you think I think I’m just trying to be funny but it’s not funny at all?
Because I’ve never written anything on 2+2 with the intent of writing a joke.
I do post somethings with the intent of them being taken lightly or to point out something I think is funny. But I’ve rarely posted with the thought “I bet this will make people laugh” I just don’t really care that much.
I do post plenty of nonsense or stupid or sarcastic or prick-ish things here without the intent of them being taken to heart.
I think there’s an expectation that because I wrote in comedy (no matter how mediocre) that I am often trying to be funny when that’s almost never the case. Much more often I intend to offend or annoy someone than I intend to make someone laugh on 2+2
