The single-player mission is the origin story of Rey's parents.



The single-player campaign shows the story of Idan Versio (Rey's mother), a skilled fighter who left the Empire to fight for the rebellion. As the story progresses she grows closer to Del Meeko and at the end (ending pictured above) they kiss and get married.

But that's not all, the real reveal comes shortly after at the end of the game:

So what did we learn?
Idan Versio and Del Meeko are Rey's parents.
-First, they look like her parents

(seriously, are they not exactly what you'd picture her parents to be?)

as well as:
-Del Meeko (the father) specifically mentions a daughter when he is being tortured
-It's the right time period (Kylo Ren is torturing people to find Luke Skywalker)
-Del Meeko meets Luke Skywalker, a nice movie tie-in to have his daughter also meet him.

I'm sure there's other things but having the ENDING SCENE OF THE GAME be Kylo Ren killing Del Meeko (her father) makes 0 sense as an ending scene otherwise. On top of that specifically dropping "my daughter", these 2 are 100% Rey's parents and it will be interesting to see how it's tied in to the movies.
