Never heard of it and it sounds very unappealing. Good pastrami even in NYC area is very hard to find these days.

The real downside is that, over the next several hours I felt more and more sluggish/disgusting. I couldn't eat any dinner and, by 11pm or so, it was 50/50 that I was going to vomit. Overall, I've got to rank this as a B experience in the immediate lunchtime period and a D+ experience overall. Net damage:

get this nutrition **** out of the fast food thread. there's no room for that in here. take your care for calories and sodium to health & fitness.

Got to admit, I've never really gotten the concept of chips in a burrito. I know it's not a whole lot different than a crunchy taco shell, but Fritos just sound weird in a burrito.

Also, now I have to look up that Cap N Crunch thing, because that sounds, well, you described your experience.

If using Cap'n Crunch as an adjective is wrong, than I don't want to be right.

Had an ex whose family would put Fritos in their taco meat

I'm sure it started as a filler a generation or 2 back but to me it just tasted like it was baby birded

It's like putting potato chips in a tuna sandwich, adds some crunch and texture. I'm all for it.

When I was a kid and actually ate them often, I was on board with potato chips on a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

As far as filler for burritos goes, it seems like rice would be king. It's so cheap so they can just load it in. I don't know how many times I've gone to a burrito place where someone brags about how much you get for the money, and then the thing is 70% rice, 15% beans, and the rest made up of some topping and if you look close, you can see some meat sprinkled on top, almost like a garnish.

Who's going to order a Rice Krispie burrito? Who's going to try to make one now that I suggested it?

A Frito burrito is obviously influenced by the idea of Frito pie.

Ok I used to like Mexican Pizzas as a kid, as well as these melted chicken and cheese tacos they used to make. Well a couple months ago I had a Mexican pizza that was terrible. But seeing this thread inspired me to try it again at a different location and it was great and actually looked and tasted well made.

I was a little drunk tho but my faith in them was a bit restored

My fave burrito place in SF doesn't use rice in their burritos. They are like dense little meat bombs mmmmmmm.

TT and others:

I believe we've covered the abomination that is rice in burritos when Chipotle was getting all sorts of love. Seems to be a dividing line between cultured people and savages who have trouble with velcro shoes.
