Happened across a Carl's Jr. I have two minutes to order.

Optimal order?

The majority of people in a taco bell drive-thru line are high or in the process of getting high.

I wouldn't say the majority, but certainly a good portion.

I love the texture of fresh crunchy lettuce on most of my fastfood burgers/sandwiches/burritos/tacos. Usually more the better!

Damn. When I was a teenage all the FF employees were just stoned on the reefer, didn't know they had stepped it up to hard drugs now.

Working in a ff place is more of a gateway to "hard" drugs than smoking reefer is.

I don't get Sonic. I've tried it three times and each time it reminds me of why I never go there. Terrible. I think it's just that there commercials lure you in because the food is generally ****.

Yeah DQ waaaaay better.

I tried a new JITB breakfast sandwich for dinner (2 for $4 coupon) the Loaded Breakfast Sandwich:

just one was completely filling so I didn't even eat the other. Taste was decent although the ham/bacon combo was a bit more overpowering that I expected and I am not a big fan of either. also it was pretty greasy. don't know if I would get again but I can't deny it was very filling and 2 for $4 is ridiculous value.

I went with the burger promotion: a Double El Diablo.

Burger was excellent. Juicy, well-seasoned, with a thick, moist bun, crisp veggie toppings, and the poppers added a good cheesy taste. There was a little disappointment, in that I expected a burger called El Diablo, with jalapeño poppers all over it, to be a little spicier. But all things considered, an excellent burger, much better than McDonalds or BK but just a notch below a well-topped Five Guys burger or a local premium burger joint.

Fries were decent.

The total bill was $10.15 CAD or ~8.25 USD. That is despite a Wednesday promo for a free combo (small fries and drink).

Overall, a very good meal. But I don't think I would return very often at full price. That combo would be about $15 at regular price,

Total rating, including meal quality and value proposition: 7/10. A good, creative burger but better options are available at that price point.

Why the **** would it be $15? It costs me like $9.

I'm glad you enjoyed it though. In regards to the spiciness, it can range considerably with that sandwich. From mild all the way to my head itching and sweating.

That really raises the question of which chain you would choose in if you had to die in a fast food restaurant. I would go with White Castle all the way.

Fast food in Canada tends to be about 20% more expensive (after the exchange rate), plus sales tax is 13%. For scale, a regular QPC combo at McPukes is about $9 after tax, and a standard double cheeseburger/Little Fries/Reg Drink at 5G is about $16 after tax.

Eat very many of those and you'll be getting a stent.

I'm pretty much an iron-stomach nothing-is-too-greasy ff fiend, but just seeing the picture on the drive-through menu raised my cholesterol count 30 points. Doubt I'll ever get one.
