so I went to get a haircut at 4:15 and decided to swing by Taco Bell right after for some Cool Ranch tacos. As I opened the door, "Skyfall" was playing, which is the Adele song I hate the least, so that was a good sign. I walked up to the guy and asked for two cool ranch tacos. He stared at me blankly for a bit and I said "Do you have them yet? I heard they're out today." He then nervously glanced to his left and right (I'm one of 4 people in the taco bell at 5pm), leaned in, and in a hushed tone, asked me, "how many do you want?" I said two, with lava sauce, and a fresco bean burrito. I couldn't even fill up my baja blast mt. dew before a manager comes out with a lot of tacos on my tray:
She said that two people accidentally made my order, so I got two tacos with lava sauce and two without. #winning!
I unwrapped one of the tacos w/ lava sauce first:
It was really, really good. The shell and the lava sauce combo was extremely zesty and delicious. It is a more subtle flavor, but I thought it was better than the nacho cheese ones. I was a CR>NC guy growing up eating doritos and I think taco bell has better nacho cheese options (lava sauce). I really like the consistency of the shell; it is a little thinner and not quite as crispy, and tasted extremely fresh (hopefully that continues).
The taco was still good without the lava sauce, but I'd definitely get the lava sauce going forward. I think it's the best item I've had lava sauce on there; I think the flavors mix really well.
