The suggestions have been spot on so far imo. The critical ones to hit are definitely In n Out in Vegas, Chick Fil A in Orlando, White Castle wherever.

Would probably say Five Guys and Fatburger if you're not burgered to death. Or get a baconator at Wendy's.

Just opened two In n Outs near where my dad live in Dallas area. Was there last weekend and would have gone but the lines are supposedly more than 1 hour pretty much round the clock. WTF

You had me at bacon.

But seriously this might be the first thing on the menu after landing!

Why is In n Out so highly recommended? Had a quick look at the menu and seems pretty standard burger and fries fare.

Hai guise.

I am relocating for work to NY for July and first half of August. Any recommendation on excellent NY fast food that should be tried?

where in NY?

If NYC, shake shake is good. don't wait in line for an hour for it, but if you near one and it's empty try it.

It's just that good. The simplistic menu is part of its appeal. Try the secret menu though w/ animal style fries/burger (animal style: cheese, 1000 island sauce, grilled onions on top). Theres other stuff too.

There was an article on a foodie site where the author tried out everything on the secret menu. U can get ur burger grilled w/ mustard, extra anything, etc.

I can't really explain why it's so good, it just is. Doesn't seem as "processed" as other places like wendys etc.

I would just get a double double w/ fries, both animal style. You won't regret it.

Carls Jr is a good place to go too. Six dollar burger ftw.

^^^ what yeti posted basically

The fries are cut fresh right in the store too. They taste a little different than other fries ull try, but thats b/c theyre not processed.

Also try jack in the box (sourdough jack)

FWIW, it seems like people in the West Coast swear by I-n-O, but you get more mixed results from people from other places. I for one think 5 Guys is a good deal better. I lived in NV for a couple of years and always though I-n-O was fine, and very good for the cheap price, but would rarely make a specific trip to eat there.

In the interest of fairness, there was a pretty extensive "who makes the best burger" thread around here a year or so ago - I-n-O and 5 Guys were the two front runners, but I-n-O won by a fairly high margin. (edit: here it is http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/34...burger-457109/ Closer than I thought, but InO wins w/ 24%, followed by 5Guys @ 20% and "My Local Joint" at 19%.)

If you're going to be near one, you should definitely at least try and see for yourself.

BTW, while I'm giving advice, Chick-fil-a would probably have to be the #1 spot on my Fast Food list - Original Chicken Sandwhich (add Mayo), Waffle Fries, and if they still have it, Bananna Pudding Milkshake = perfect fast food.

Carl's Jr 6 Dollar Burgers are also good, of course try 5 Guys, Popeyes makes the very best fried chicken IMO, way better than KFC. Chipotle is great.

If you drive past one, eat at Waffle House, preferably while drunk after 2 am. You want your hash browns Scattered, Covered, Chunked and Diced. Whatever you do, stay away from Bert's Chili.

Just had this after seeing it ITT. Pretty sick deal at 99c. Probably going to be my new go to at Wendy's.

I went to the Allen location right at dinnertime tonight and it wasn't THAT bad. The line was definitely very long, but they had people outside taking orders so the whole thing moved fairly quickly. Prob took about 30 minutes from entering the line to getting my food, which is still fairly ridiculous but not insane or anything.

Got a 3x3 animal style and animal style fries. Figure if I'm gonna be in line that long I might as well go big. A+ obv.

Free breakfast at Chick-fil-A this week! They're taking reservations now.

http://chick-fil-aforbreakfast.com

I grabbed the 8:30-9:30 slot on Weds. I'm in for two Chicken, Egg & Cheese on Sunflower Multigrain Bagel sandwiches.

A morning date with the wife!

Tried the BK "California" Whopper Jr. last night. Adds guacamole, bacon and swiss.

It was better than expected, although it was too heavily mayonaised for me to tell if it had GOAT potential. Will be trying again.

Nice, might give that a shot this week. Looks/sounds very good but I'm always suspicious of fast food "guacamole."

Anyone know of any good vegetarian fast food options?

I've been eating Jimmy John's vegetarian sandwich pretty much every day on my lunch break. Getting old.

Chipotle does a pretty solid veggie burrito/bowl (basically just replacing meat with guacamole).
