Culver's Reuben and Taco Bell are my go to fast foods these days.

Taco Bell: Why can't I just get a beef burrito supreme? Sure, I can request that you leave the beans off, but would it kill you to have one on the menu?

Pertinent to this thread: Did anyone catch America's Next Great Restaurant?

Premiered last night. Four investors picked 10 finalists with a chance to open three locations of a new chain restaurant, Hollywood, Minneapolis and New York. I'm pulling for grilled sandwiches, if they can find a way to make them crispy on the outside.

First, I disagree with this assessment, but I get it. Sometimes the double burger can be too "meaty". This is a major problem at NYC's Shake Shack,so I just order 2 single patty burgers and am a happy fatty.

IndieFatty - welcome to the thread, sir. Looking forward to reading your assessments.

Wow Al. Someday that happy little star will make its way to NYC. Carls.

Edit: Al, I guess I need to update my 2006 burger rankings, but I've pretty much been a slave to 5 Guys and Shake Shack in the last few years, and due to the reduction of Taco Bell franchises in Manhattan I haven't touched traditional fast food in a very long time.

lol, I'll have to give Carl's Jr a try at some point - and I think everything I know about fast food chains is seriously from OOT threads.

I always get the original which happens to be the best. It consists of a patty, american cheese, tomato, lettuce, ketchup, and mayo. Though Burger king's Whopper is of similar ingredients, in terms of taste, Carl's Jr burger is miles ahead. There also is a Jalapeno version which is good too.

if you live in the OC area you have to try Big Mike's. No exaggeration when I say it's the best burger I've ever tasted. bacon, egg, sausages, toasted bread, i'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

Mused - that a chain? If so, never heard of it (I live in LA).

For my money, the best fast food burger on the planet belongs to Culver's. I guess they're only in the Midwest, but nothing beats a Triple Bacon Butterburger with a side of deep-fried cheese curds for pure artery-clogging bliss.

The AV Club said the jalapeno steakhouse burger was pretty good.

I wouldn’t call the BK Stuffed Steakhouse “delicious” exactly, but it’s the tastiest Steakhouse I’ve come across, and different enough from most fast-food burgers on the market that I could see myself actually craving one from time to time (as long as it stays on the menu, anyway).

For example, I get every single ingrediant on my burrito except for beans, green salsa, and guac, and my steak burrito clocks in at 995 calories. I agree. I read a couple of articles about how to eat Chipotle healthy, and even most FF places have enough options for that kind of thing.

My first post just goes back to when I was in college, and a Qdoba right next to campus opened. I f'ing loved that Queso Burrito, and it always seemed crazy that I could get a 3-pound brick of food for $5 or whatever. Until someone told me it was 2000 calories. Took the wind right out of my gustatory sails.

Still, I don't want to derail this thread with health concerns. Obviously we're all consenting adults and are expected to know the consequences of our FF actions. The next time I go to Qdoba, I'm going to get a steak Queso Burrito with sour cream, rice, and pinto beans, because I ****ing love that ****.

We just had a Sonic built within the last month or so. The GF and I went there once and haven't been back. The food was unimpressive to say the least. I also ordered a chocolate milkshake and I swear it had Coconut in it, which I despise.

One good tip I've learned about Wendy's though. Always go for the Chili as a side dish. It's the same price as the fries and so much better as a lunch or snack later.

Has anyone ever been to Harvey's in Canada? I've always liked that burger, but that might have something to do with only having it about once a year. I know that you can customize it though which is nice. I can't remember anything about the fries.

Hardee's (Carl's Jr. out west) has some really awesome burgers for fast food. 5 Guys is pretty close to the nuts for grabbing a burger and some fries for $8 or whatever it is, but I am very pumped a Chick-Fil-A is finally opening here.

I haven't been in a McD or BK for years. If I feel like a super-chain, it's always Wendy's and either spicy chicken, or crispy chicken if I feel cheap

In before Henry17 LOL's at us all for eating fast food

I'm pissed BK changed their Steakhouse burgers.

The old steakhouse burger with the large flat square patty was basically perfect. It let the onion straws, tomatoes, and A-1 sauce be the dominant flavors rather than just having a ton of poorly prepared beef.

there's only a handful of places around here(small town).

subway - my go to sandwich for years was the chicken bacon ranch footlong which is $8.75, but i recently discovered they have a chicken patty sandwich with more chicken for $7. add bacon and it's still cheaper than the CBR.

wendy's - the double(or triple) baconator is good but why no veggies? for as much as it costs i'd rather get 3 or 4 jr. bacon cheeseburgers. spicy chicken is great. other than that there's not much i eat there.

mcdonald's - here we have the "mckinley mac" which is a big mac but with quarter pounder patties on it. that's obviously the go to sandwich with the honey mustard snack wrap on the side.

taco bell - pretty much everything is good at taco bell. it's the furthest from where i work so i eat here the least unfortunately.

carl's jr. - good burgers. can't think of one in particular that i like the most. not sure if they still have the big carl or not but that's a good one. cross cut fries are awesome.

god damn i'm really hungry now.

Culver's and Qdoba are my all time two favorites by far. for all the reasons mentioned above. At Culver's I'll usually get the cheddar bacon burger with cheese curds, and sometimes get the pot roast or other burgers. Qdoba it's always the Queso burrito, or sometimes naked burrito with chips and queso to go with it. I can sometimes get two meals out of Qdoba if i'm not super hungry.
