On a serious chicago dog kick at the moment. Tried all the locals places, still need to get to Sonic and to Steak n' Shake.

Anyone try the new Wendy's dipped chicken sandwiches yet? They look pretty good but are $6 for just the sandwich here in Chi, probably not worth it.

The buffalo variety is tasty, but $6 just for the sandwich is absurd.

new? those were out for a limited time about 5-6 years ago in norcal. pretty good but not better than the regular spicy chicken. certainly not worth 6$.

Meh at taco bell the other day, ordered the new Double Decker Taco special that comes with :

Double Decker Taco
2 Crunchy Tacos
Drink

On the menu at Taco Bell the crunchy taco is listed at 1.19 and the double decker at 1.09, so I asked if they can switch the two crunchy for double deckers(I know the double deckers are only cheaper cause they are new). The cashier was a young girl and she said that made sense but it wasnt an option on the computer system so she was going to ask her manager. I really didnt care that much but meh.
He comes up and than tells me thats not good cause he ahs to charge for the extra inventory of the chees/beans/softshell on the double decker. So i attempted one explanation of logic, if fell on deaf ears, and just paid extra.

tried the sunrise on flatbread. flatbread >>> english muffin. this is a quality option and under $5.50 with coffee.

they also seem to have a special for 6in flatbread (not sure if national or local special; currently its double bacon, egg, & cheese) + coffee for $3. thats a deal.

May have a chance to try five guys for the first time today. What should I order? (Not a fan of tomato or raw onion.)

Only very rarely do I eat fast food cause I am always disappointed. I went to an Arby's. Worst food ever. Their roast beef, which apparently, is also their entire theme, wasn't actually roast beef by any stretch of the imagination. It was brown ham or sugar mixed with various meat products.

Just saying the word Arby's has me salivating.

Get the cheeseburger with lettuce, mayo, steak sauce, etc etc but whatever you choose, make sure to get jalapenos! Makes the burger taste 10x better.

McDonalds has a frozen strawberry lemonade now, which sounds awesome as I love all those things.

However, the one I got basically all the water was still frozen and the syrup was all sitting at the bottom of the cup, so your first hit with the straw was this sickening thick too strong flavored mess. Maybe it was just some failure of technology or employee, but it was no Taco Bell Frutisa Freeze for sure.

Get whatever toppings you like on a burger, but definitely get A1 sauce. Also try the cajun fries.

sounds like standard horrible McDonald employees..ever got a mcflurry? they put the icecream in and then just dump the topping on it and don't even bother to mix it, even though they have a fkn machine to do that

Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get to Five Guys.

I'm surprised that jalapenos and A-1 is the consensus. I definitively would have missed that, but will now have to try it.

Just spent some time in Hungary.

McDonald's there is better. The issue a couple people have brought up re McDoubles/McChickens having bad buns doesn't exist there. The buns are much better than the ones in the US: they taste fresher and look more appetizing.

Lángos is a street food in Hungary. My personal favorite is krumpli (potato) langos with either just garlic -or- garlic, sour cream, scallions, and ham. I was paying something like $1.20 for a langos that was big enough to be a meal.

Another decent street food I had was a sajtos krumpliburger, which was reminiscent of the "Fat" sandwiches served at the Rutgers University grease trucks. It had a 3-piece bun like a whopper filled with a burger, lettuce, tomato, cheese, onion, cabbage, french fries, ketchup, and a little mayo. That was more expensive than langos, ringing up at $3.50.

As I may have been the only person in America watching America's Next Great Restaurant, this may be a long shot, but has anyone tried Soul Daddy's in NYC, LA or Mall of America yet? I was actually surprised that concept won the show as it seemed the least interesting to me, so I was thinking the food may just be awesome to make up for the lack of imagination.

I watched the show, was kinda disappointed the Indian guy didn't win. I felt like his was the only one with potential to become a big chain just because there isn't anything like it out there.

That show was so stupid in that the individual, the taste of the food, the stying, etc. had no real impact on anything. As soon as they chose a winner they were going to rebrand everything, get new fast-food friendly ingredients/menu, etc.

Also, read some yelp reviews of it.

This is so tilt inducing (from a review that gave 4 of 5):

I got the Vegetarian Plate, so I can't really speak to the meat selection here, thus the 4 out of 5,
Soooo you're docking them a point for something you didn't even try? WTF?
