When I went to the BVI, arrived late. Having a beer in the bar, got to talking to the bartender and chef, who was having a drink after his shift. Somehow we got on that subject.

He said I'd just never had is prepared properly. Come in tomorrow, he'd make me something. If i didn't like it, it's on him.

Had some kind of chunk of fish. Not surprisingly, didn't do anything for me. Of course, I didn't tell him; went back to the kitchen and thanked him for the effort. But meh.

Have occasionally had the chance to try something (a bite from a friends' plate, buffets in Vegas, that sorta thing), and never found anything that makes me think, "wow, I want more of that."
Stuff that lives in the same water it craps in can't be that good. Tuna is okay if it's mixed with lots of non-fish stuff. The only fish that I've liked is grouper from the ocean. If you're really fish-curious you could try to find a restaurant that has it, but it'll prob be expensive.

Anyway, mine was pretty tasty. Sauce was perfect and size about what I remember. Might even go for a second one this season.
It has been a couple years since I have had one. I do not remember so much sauce that I could not eat it without getting sauce all over my face. I might get another on this year but not until after I try a double Filet-o-Fish.

Love most seafood (like, from an ocean), can't stand the idea of eating fresh-water fish, though. Probably will require years of therapy to figure that one out.

Would crush the crawfish platter at Pappadeaux, though. Pretty sure they're fresh-water bugs.

This is true, tartar sauce makes plain fish good. With fried whitefish it's all about the frying technique and the tartar sauce.

Columbia River Salmon my old friends actually caught from a boat was the most amazing fish ever. Fatty and delicious, it.rather spoiled me.

Like catfish. I tried a piece with basic seasoning. When compared to a pork chop seasoned the same way, there's no comparison.

I had some really well done fried fish sampler platter in Oregon over the summer, but after a couple of bites of each I couldn't take anymore.

I can handle 1.5 mcribs, and the last .5 at home with tater chips a bit later.

Best fish I've ever had was mesquite grilled mahi-mahi at a San Diego fish market restaurant. Real easy to overcook at high temp but this was perfect. Used to drive down to Mexico and buy seafood fresh off the dock, mostly for the jumbo blue shrimp, the red snapper was ok but don't go out of my way for fish. Too fragile and touchy to prepare, pork chops or steak for the win! The giant shrimp cocktails from Costco aren't bad for an appetizer.

An example of something that sort of sounds logical, but isn’t in any way. Factory farmed animals wallow in **** their entire lives.

Mahi Mahi has also been some of the BEST cooked fish I have ever eaten... those Dolphines are delicious!

Still, my top 'Fish' has always been Maguro Tuna Sashimi... must be fresh. It's like eating candy... but much better.

The 30-day expiration date on the MCD survey is fake news; I redeemed one from over 30 days ago and it worked fine.

The Chinese lady who took my order snatched my coupon like it was her money I was messing with. Luckily I have plenty of ree-seets.

I need to make a costco trip today. Pretty sure that means its gonna be a double mcrib day. I don't think I'll be attempted to stuff both in my pie hole, I'll save the second for later. I'm sure it reheats perfectly in the microwave, I can just sense it.

Good luck food fans

Might be old news, but I just got the spam...

Wingstop $7.99 sandwich combo seems like a good deal? Chix sammich with choice of sauce, fries, dippin sauce and a drink. LTO, online or via the app. Might be dinner for me.

i totally agree with most of this, although a little bit unsure which you preferred on the topic of catfish or pork chop
batter fried halibut with malt vinegar is much different from something like a corn breaded catfish with hushpuppy
if you ever happen to make it back out to the oregon coast, shoot me a note and let me know. i have a list of good fish eats from astoria to brookings and everywhere inbetween

as for salmon

sure seem to me swimming in deep or rapidly flowing water is the same thing as living inside a port-a-potty

One refill. And they give you a new cup. They can't use the old cup because they use a drink robot.

The Taco Bell across from it still has $1 happy hour drinks.

Worked in a restaurant with a live lobster tank. Saddest, most pathetic creatures ever. I considered it a mercy to kill them. Most guys hated to go pull them from the tank, but I didn't mind. Giant sea cockroaches.

Quit that place not long after the tank malfunctioned, and the next day the head chef wanted me to do something with half a dozen day old dead lobster. Flat refused. So gross.

About the only fish I would eat these days is wild caught salmon. The farmed stuff is trash. A day caught mahi, or god forbid, swordfish is nice too

For the first time in years the $2 breakfast sammich offer wasn't in my McDonald's app this morning. That's been my most used fast food offer by far. Not cool.

Edit: Ok maybe not by far. Free medium fries with $2 purchase probably a close second

They did that to me when they rolled out the bagels ~6 months ago.

$2 deal came back like 3 weeks later.

I basically only eat McD's breakfast nowadays. Considered it a blessing when the $2 deal was randomly gone one morning.

As soon as I saw it reappeared ...
