You lucky young'uns!

I never even had a bite of pizza or even saw one until I was in the 7th grade.
Burgers were no more than a monthly feature at my elementary school.
I never ate a school lunch from the eighth grade on.
I can't even recall the lunch room from the 7th grade, but I probably ate there. Not sure.

Gruesome times.

I was sorta the opposite. In elementary school I brought a bag lunch, never ate the "hot" school lunch. I much preferred the pb&j I usually got in the bag.

In high school my parents gave me money to get school food because they had an actual pick-and-choose cafeteria. They had awful burgers and so-so hot dogs. I usually got a hot dog.

When I started middle school you could get Pizza Hut in the cafeteria on Fridays. At some point it switched to every day.

Lol, it may have improved in some places, but I can guarantee that most modern school lunches are wayyyy worse than whatever you had. It’s basically prison food. In fact, it’s usually the same supply company for both.

We had Dominos every day in my high school for $2/slice. This was in the mid-2000s. I'm guessing it's like $3-$4 a slice these days.

Domino's has 50% off menu price on all pizzas when you order online, good thru the 21st.

Got an extravaganzza, it was very good. And less than $10.

AFAIK we never had pizza in school. I didn't even really know what it was until I was in high school. My parents never ate it, and I never had money to buy it until I got a job my senior year.

Eating pizza together with friends is a noted part of childhood. Get togethers, regular hang outs, birthday parties, etc.

Absolutely not.

I grew up in a different time. Didn't really have get togethers, except fishing on weekends, or regular hangouts. Too busy. I also lived in a small town. I don't remember any pizza restaurants until they built a Pizza Hut about when I got into high school. Not many people make their own pizza.

If they had pizza in the elementary school cafeteria, it was part of the generic complete meal, which I never got. In jr high or high school we could buy stuff a la carte, but since I didn't have a taste for pizza, I wasn't interested in buying it. If it even was offered, school cafeteria food was the worst of the worst, so I doubt it looked very appetizing anyway.
