I have been a fan of McRibs since the mid 80's but the meat gets worse every year. This year is no exception. My wife just picked up four, so I had my first two of the year. The meat in both looked like very thin meat folded over to make two layers. My wife said the one she ate did not seem to be like that. I did not plow into the muck in the interest of science, but I will try to check out the remaining guy when I rescue him from the refrigerator later tonight or tomorrow.

Cliff's: Pretty much as expected--including further disappointment with the meat.

I looked and my local McDonald's was not doing 2 McRibs for $6 like was done in the past. So I went to grab a $2 double whopper. Unwrapping the burger, I find the meat in my sandwich was burnt to the point that the patties were crunchy. Blech. I'm sad.

Made an A+ crunchwrap tonight for Jr, GFY TB. I'll document the next one, plenty of taco meat left.

looking forward to the pics, and the next obvious step which is sausage crunchwrap.
do you have a stash of fire sauce packets?

Of course.

Just made one on trial run, but it was on point. Thought it through and went tortilla, lettuce/tom, tostada, queso, meat. Folded large tortilla over in circle, leaving a half dollar size hole uncovered in middle(TB tortillas must be huge)

Then took that and placed it hole-down on a heated pan and sat a cast iron skillet on top of that. Flip and repeat a couple more minutes. My thinking was lettuce & tomato stay as cool as possible.

May have to jump on that sausage crunchwrap train. Have some frozen hashbrowns that are very similar to TB rectangles and come out great in the air fryer. Crunchwrap Thursday incoming.

Modified palindrome. I cooked bacon and have cheese and onions to amplify these burgers.

Here’s my first McRib, it was wildly mediocre. It tasted...this good?

A Malucci Mac, and not a particularly good one. I ate this too.

McRib 2: Judgment Day. Probably better than the first, but not by enough. The large fry that carried me through all this was also subpar. Altogether pretty trashtastic. McD’s not coming through. Oh well, expecting anything different would be my mistake.

Gogogogo Grando! That's a nice spread. I admit I think I'm more shocked that zesty sauce is 150 calories (!!!) than the price tag.

I would be diving into those 6 double cheeseburgers.

Malucci,

Is that extra onions or did they just load up that first McRib? I like the Malucci Mac palette cleanser in between McRibs.

I got inspired by the Whopper Wednesday talk to do my own BK run. I had to feed the wife and kid, though, so no $2 double whopper despite the unreal value. Instead, I hit the family bundle: 3 whoppers, 3 cheeseburgers, 3 small fries, $13.99.

I got excited to try my first ever whopper with mustard & mayo instead of ketchup and mayo, however to my chagrin my app order crashed everytime I tried to add a customized deal to the bag. I don't know if my local BK disabled it or if it was an honest technical glitch, but I was bummed I couldn't switch sauces or get some sweet free extra pickles. Ah well.

I threw on 4 spicy nuggets ($1), and 4 mozzarella sticks ($1.79) for some car ride home appetizers.

First the bad: it took forever in the drive thru line, despite there only being 2 cars in front of me. There were literally 20-25 in the CFA line a 1/2 block away, and I'm pretty sure I would have made it through theirs first. Also, they left one of the fries out of the bag, but I was too uncomfortable after sitting for 7-8 minutes at the window to double check the bag at the window, and I wasn't looping around that drive thru again.

Everything else was good. Spicy nuggets were solid, and downright tasty when dipped in ranch. $1 very well spent. Mozz sticks were even better, mostly because the marinara dipping sauce was actually pretty zesty and flavorful. They were on the small side, but flavor wise I'd say there isn't a ton of difference between these and something from an Applebees or something like that. I was pretty hungry so I may be overrating them a touch, but I was very happy with them.

The whopper was classic and tasty, and I'm excited to have one in the fridge for breakfast tomorrow. I also ate one of the cheeseburgers and it was much better than I expected. A month or two ago I posted how I stopped for a BK bacon cheeseburger snack, and I really didn't like their smaller burgers, but I think it was actually the bacon - somehow BK bacon actually makes their small cheeseburger worse. I've never had the bacon king or any of their big bacon burgers, but now I'm really curious if they use thicker/better bacon on their premium stuff. Anyway this cheeseburger certainly wasn't amazing, but it was pleasant enough.

If I dropped $25-$30 on this meal I'd say it was a perfectly solid fast food dinner, maybe a B-. At $17 and change after tax it is absolutely A- worthy and made my evening.

This is cracking me up imagining a fine dining restaurant offering white glove malucci macs in between courses instead of those little bites of gelato or w/e.

They were both heavy on the onions but I didn’t order any extra. I did not see the onions as a negative. I didn’t see many positives either.

I've never tried the mozzarella sticks. I'll keep those in mind especially when I need a $1+ filler item for one of the app offers.

I've been taking BK nuggets and their ranch dipping sauce and making chicken wraps. Add 4-5 nuggets, lettuce, diced tomato, shredded cheese and the ranch packet to a large tortilla.

It's my favorite next day move for leftover nuggets.

Despite the obv plays of BK and Rick's today, I was at South Point and so ended up at Steak N Shake! This meal snapped a roughly 24 hour fast and it was great! Portobello swiss and a Wisconsin butter burger. Both delicious, but those were fairly similar and I wished I had done something different than the WB, despite it being great. Two dem bad boys, a wonderful salad, and a FFDP! Somehow passed on half price shake. Seems like an error.

Those are excellent pics BH, but if I’m nit picking (and I am), I would have liked to see a close up of the Wisconsin burger as well. And you certainly should have gotten a shake, what the hell are you thinking?

I still love and respect you of course.
