Edit: I didn't say that, I just said "Ah okay", appreciating her honesty, and went on with my order, using one of their actual non-mobile deals.
Compared to other mobile ordering apps, I think McD's app is now above average (it use to be terrible). Most app issues can be solved either by logging out and back in again or reselecting the McDonald's location you want to order from.
Also, if you want to get around the 60 minute limit, just clear your McDonald app data and relogin. You should be able to use more deals.
