I used to be in this camp, but nah. Capriotti’s Bobbie needs the mayo because without it it’s too dry. The mayo helps it out perfectly. You may come at me all “no the cranberry sauce is enough”. To that I say nay.

Ive been in a lot of cheap buffets the last month, and turkey with cranberry is becoming a favorite.

I did it. After visiting five Popeyes in the last two days, I found one. A Popeyes that still had The Chicken Sandwich in stock. Theoretically.

It was 9:30 pm, and they had sold out of their rations for the day. However, the cashier told me they still had some left that they would sell tomorrow when they opened at 10 am. He told me this in hushed tones, as if we were engaged in a criminal conspiracy. At the time, I did not feel like a felon. But in retrospect, he was right. It was criminal to withhold that information from other restaurant patrons. Although I'm glad he did.

I did not take notes.



That was last night.

Today was the day. And I was ready. Rolled up to the Louisiana Kitchen at precisely 9:59 am. The line at the door was 12 people deep. ****. That ****ing cashier must have told more people than he let on.

One minute later, an employee unlocked the door, and the mob rushed in like it was a Black Friday sale. And in a way, it kind of was. Although I guess that starts on a Thursday now. Words have lost all meaning. Literally.

This cashier was nice but slow. It's okay, I can handle it. They have TCS in stock. I'm good. I wonder how they can still have it, when noone else around does. Are they limiting people to just one sando each, and am I going to have to choose between the classic and the spicy? Because I really want to try one of each, what am I gonna do if I can only pick one? Immediately my eyes get hot and I try to quickly blink back the tears. Maybe I can't handle this after all. My throat starts to close up. Come on. Breathe, mother****er.

18 minutes later, the cashier was ready for my order. I hit em with "One classic and one spicy." He doesn't blink. Oh, it's on. "Actually lemme make that three of each." "Sure thing, that'll be $26.21, sir."



It takes them 30 excruciating minutes to call my number and give me my bag. Why so long, were they catching the chickens themselves?







I start with the classic before the spicy, of course, would be stupid to do it the other way, like not going I before E except after C. Weird. Lunacies, I tell you. Ok, let's unwrap this bad boy and see what we got.



I can hear the crispy crinkly coating crackling when I unwrap it. Holy **** that is a thing of beauty. It's like twice the size of a CFA sandilly. The chicken filet is bigger than my hands, and I've got big hands, believe me, many people are saying the biggest they've ever seen.

Moment of truth. I bite into it. And the hot juicy flavor explodes into my mouth like it's the 4th of July, makin me go oh oh oh! Holy mother****ing shitballs, that **** is ****ing amazing!



Piping hot, thick, succulent, tasty, in-****ing-credible. Probably helps that it went from the fryer to my mouth in less than 30 seconds, since they were handing out individual orders as soon as they were done.

That first taste was great, didn't need anything else really, it was fantastic on its own, but there was no pickle in that bite. I thought there would be a little pickle in there, and I love me some pickle. Let's turn it around and see her from behind.



There they are! And is that mayo on them? Who knows, it might be my jizz cause I don't care, I'll admit it, I came in my pants from the first bite of this luscious lady. Who am I kidding, I'd still scarf this thing down even if it was someone else's jizz, that's how good it is.

Anyway, back to the pickle. Spoiler alert, it's awesome. So good it deserves its own shot.

Ok, gotta slow down and save some room for the spicy, but I can't. Stop. Stuffing. This. Up. My. Ass.

Several glorious bites later, I temporarily regain control of my faculties and manage to put it down about halfway through. It's spicy time!



Sweet Baby Annie, that is a sexy sanderella. Bite into it, and it is somehow EVEN ****ING BETTER! I'm so happy I'm going to cry, and let me tell you, I'm a manly man, I never cry, well, maybe just a little bit earlier at the cashier, but that's it, no more than once a day otherwise.

The spicy flavor combo is absolutely perfect, and it builds as I keep eating, to the point where my mouth actually starts blistering and I might not be able to take it any more, which is no easy feat because have I told you before, I'm a manly man? Yeah, you already know.

Somewhere along the line, I managed to get a FFDP, which was on point and hit the spot just right, to keep my tongue from exploding into flames. Several sweaty forehead filled minutes later, and I am in heaven, absolutely stuffed and supremely satisfied. There would be no chucking of soda at the cashier today.

I roll out with my bag of four pleasure packages left, and see that the line has now swelled up to 40-50 people out the door and into the parking lot. JFK, that's gotta be at least a two hour wait. I think about scalping my sambonis in line, how much would I get for them?

I randomly decided to upgrade my side at Culver’s to the pretzel bites with Wisky cheese sauce. They were nice and fresh, tasty and will order again

I keep driving by the Popeyes near me, and the line is out the door and the drive-thru is around the corner. It's nuts.
