Had a similar experience at my local Popeyes a few years back.

They closed down last month.

That's been my experience every time I've gone to my local popeyes. Not 26 minutes bad, but certainly longer than any other FF place on average.

Down 50 lbs over the past year, and am just recently officially not overweight. Not doing much fast food nowadays which is why I ask so much for others' TRs on new ff items. Gotta live vicariously.

Has anyone tried the Wendy's jalapeno bacon burger? It looks ****in great.Looks exactly like BK's Angey Whopper, down to the fried onions and spicy sauce. Can someone please TR this thing?

Here's the thing though: It takes roughly twenty minutes for a batch of chicken to cook.

This was back in like 2002 and then again in 2004, but yea, it takes raw chicken, especially dark meat, around twenty minutes to cook in them big ol fryers.

The manager is the one that calls out the amount of chicken to be dropped.

When he says "Drop me a four in spicy, and a six of mild."

That means four each of each piece of chicken for spicy (leg, wing, breast, thigh) and six each of each piece for mild.

Thing is, when there's a quick bam bam, of people ordering big azz family meals, it can drain the chicken fast AF. Like two people in a row in drive thru get a 16 piece of spicy, well goodbye Spicy. Unless it's popping like crazy, most managers are hesitant to drop more than a six at a time

Now when I go, I always get the spicy strips. They take less time to cook by half I believe.

At first glance, I was like, "Oh, okay, just some vegan ordering pizza. Sucks that it's expensive, but what can ya do."

But then my eyes jumped back to see pepperoni, what in the ever-loving ****?? I mean, I'm lactose intolerant too-- but if I'm eating pizza, I'm eating some damn cheese.

Grand McExtreme is amazing. I had McDonald's in Spain 2 years ago but I don't remember this. A+ Fast Food burger.

I didn't know these existed until you mentioned them, so I ran to Popeye's for lunch. The spicy sandwich was good. You can tell it is an actual piece of chicken and not some uniformly flat round thing like at Burger King. The spiciness comes from the condiment spread on it, not from actual spices on the chicken, and it wasn't very spicy. Might try the regular one before I finalize my opinion.

I'm not a big CFA fan, so my comparison is probably not the most useful, but compared to Wendy's, I definitely choose Wendy's because it is spicier and you can add bacon there, which is friggin mandatory for me.

I had to try one too and it was basically an attempted carbon copy of a chick fil a sandwich- sweet grilled bun, pickles, crispy breading and juicy chicken. The only drawback was the saltiness. This is something I’ve ran in to when making Kenji’s chick fil a imitation recipe- the recipe calls for MSG which I have to cut in half. Seems like Popeyes went overkill in their quest to better chick fil a- sandwich was almost indelible from the saltiness.

Still a good looking sandwich though.

Finally got around to trying the Grand McExtreme Bacon. Presentation was so-so but burger was delicious, even despite Rick's perpetually substandard bacon.

Would not order again*, however, as value was an F-minus at $5.99.

I thought it tasted like a qpc with a liquid smoke sauce and grilled onions.

I've only had one but I was disappointed. (Even more so as it was my first FF in a couple of months.)

Spicy wasn’t quite as good as she looked, but oh well. This is a brand new Wendy’s close to where I live...I hope my next experience is better.

I just got that too. Not nearly as tasty as an Angry Whopper imo, but still good because it was a bacon double cheeseburger.

Its basically a Baconator, with some orange sauce instead of ketchup/mayo, add a couple jalapenos and onion straws.

I giggled while ordering the grand mc-extreme, but god damn it is good. I think it's the best thing Rick has ever served.

It's an iconic sandwich. I've had 3 in 2 days.
