Solid post. Thanks for the heads up.

I think they think it is. And it isn’t. And that isn’t what it needs to be “the bomb”...it’s just a sucker play to get us to bite. And I bit big...I bit big.

About $11 for 1/4 lb cheese, fries and soda. I live 10 minutes away yet have never been back.
I think that's the same size as McD's regular, and definitely the same size as Dick's patties. It's definitely pricier than Dick's by about $2 for the double. Also, a couple of yelp reviews said the beef had off texture, like it had filler in it - the owner/manager did refute those to be fair.

In the end, I'm a sucker for a dipped cone, I'll have to give it a try next time I'm in SoDo 'round lunch time.

Early 70s McDs were 1/10th lb. They look the same to me now.

Went to Cookout today. Solid value.

I got a "tray" which was $5.49. I chose the double cheeseburger (solid size with an appropriate amount of cheese).

I went with fries as my first side. You don't get a ton of fries but they were decent. Not great. Needed more salt but that was an easy fix. Probably go onion rings next time.

I went with the nuggets as my second side. You get 3 nuggets which were surprisingly good. Reminded me of a poor man's Chik-Fil-A nugget.

The Sprite was top notch. Some of the best ice in the market. Similar to Royal Farms crushed ice. By the end of my drink I was drinking a Sprite smoothie.

I got a cheese dog in addition to the above tray and it was worth the $2. It had "grill marks" which was a nice touch.

The cheese for both the hot dog and fries had sort of plasticy look and feel but was ok. Not much taste.

The burger and soda were the standout items and for $5.49 you can't really beat it.

Well I'm moving back to Las Vegas in a few weeks, gents. Really looking forward to having a steady rotation of Cane's and Carl's in my ass. And Firehouse! Yay!

Be sure to lube up with some extra Caniac sauce just for me!

Edit: That didn’t sound weird.

Nope. Not at all.

Insanely local tip here for the metro Detroiters. There’s a place called Doug’s delight in Hazel park (John R and Woodward Heights) that has the best fast food in the game.

It’s owned by the chef of Mable Gray(probably the best restaurant in the state). The cheeseburger isn’t on the menu but it’s the best burger I’ve ever had. $6 for the single $10 for the double smash style. Kimchi tater tots, lots of hot dog varieties and the ice cream sandwich is goat level. It’s not a super cheap date, but it’s a walk up ice cream stand so it’s fast food to me.

Great name and the menu looks good. Seems like real fast food. That's a shake list that can compete with anybody.

They serve the food in styrofoam boxes so it feels like you are leaving a cookout!

Better than styrofoam fries left on the counter that look the same today as they did 6 months ago!

And they are elite ff quality.

A location I’ve been to a number of times has had a flavor of the week that is 99 cents which is hall of fame value.

I really dislike all eating from and with styrofoam, paper/plastic plates, and plastic silverware.

The Grand McExtreme sounds like McLovin’s new nickname in a Superbad sequel.

I’m about to go to Dairy Queen to try that sour patch kids blizzard someone posted. Looks amazing. Hope they have it at my local Dairy Queen or I’m going to be very disappointed.

It’s pretty damn good. I give it a solid B+/A-. Wish the sour patch pieces were a little bigger.
