agreed. I didn't order the tb combo meal when they replaced the nachos with a dessert.

It's sad what's become of KFC lately. I'm glad the Colonel isn't around to witness it. Although I had their 5 dollar lunch deal a couple of times back in May that was ok. They were doing a special where they'd give you a wing along with the breast, and they'd let you sub in the wedges for the potatoes. Wasn't bad at all but notice I haven't been back since, not with Popeye's 5 minutes away.

The thread demands a CFA Frosted Key Lime trip report!

Same for the two by Mark. I wonder if it's part of their market strategy? Here in so cal, the 5 I go past the most all have a chic-fil a in the same parking lot / center or within a block.

Those combos are still pretty good value even with the cookie. The cookie is just extra. You're still getting a sandwich or chicken, a side and drink with all of them.

Yeah, the cookie is fine in my book. Way better than the Styrofoam cinnamon sticks at TB.

Cane's about to open in the area, never had it, what's the order?

KFC's pickle fried chicken was very good this summer, but they are fairly expensive around here, almost 3 dollar bean expensive...

Cane's only has chicken fingers (or the option to put chicken fingers on a bun for a sandwich). For a first order just get some strips and try all 3 sides to see if you like 'em. I myself sub out the cole slaw for an extra piece of garlic toast.

Only thing to make sure is to buy an extra couple of canes sauces. It's excellent on the chicken and fries, and you don't want to run out.

(I stopped at 7-11 first and got a 79c Big Gulp of Mt Dew.) And it seems like that coupon is always available so Im a slave to it. Anyways, I get to the window where Im informed that they only have one spicy chicken. Im kinda confused, its 3pm. She must notice my ****ing puzzlement because she asks if you would like one homestyle chicken instead, or can I wait 7 minutes for two fresh ones. Im not in a hurry so I elect to wait for fresh ones and pull into nearby stall. That doesnt sit particularly well, they've just got spicy chickens made and laying around? Eventually they show up, and they gave me the not fresh one anyway, judging by how much hotter the 2nd was in comparison. And even the 2nd one just kinda sucked. $5.60 for the BOGO when I could get two far superior BK spicy chickens for $6.60. What the hell am I doing? No more!
I'm glad Dave Thomas wasn't alive to read this.

Make sure you request that they butter both sides of the toast.

Dipping the toast in the sauce is also elite. Also they have a great honey mustard, but you have to ask for it.

Definitely sub out the slaw but I’d usually just get another Canes sauce or more fries, one piece of toast is plenty imo YMMV

And yes, it was delicious. Damn them!
How is it on Saturday, when CFA is open?

Wife and kids were out of town this weekend and I ran a half marathon yesterday, so I decided to throw down some Dominos over the course of a day:

Thin crust philly cheesesteak pizza
Chicken habanero sandwich
Some kind of specialty buffalo chicken:

The sandwich was pretty good, but the other two items were absolutely fantastic. I knew that I liked the cheesesteak pizza, but the chicken thing was a first-timer for me. Will definitely be a repeat order in the unlikely event that I can convince my wife to order Dominos when she's eating. One of the best Dominos experiences I've ever had.

I've always found Dominos side items to be better than their pizza. Their Italian oven-baked sandwiches are like crack to me.

Maybe slightly less crowded. maybe.

Both the CFA and Canes do really well but at CFA you can always find a seat without too much an issue.

The other thing that pisses me off about that Cances location is the drive-thru line blocks the normal traffic through the parking lot. The CFA drive-thru has to be 2x more efficient than Canes.

Domino's has a few flavors of those chicken bites, they are all pretty tasty IMO.

Wendy's and Burger King tempting me so bad right now with any size fries and 10 nuggets for $1 respectively. Not exactly their best items but good enough at that price. I could throw in a $1 McDouble (through the McD app) and large drink and have a pretty sweet custom 4 for $4.

If BK had any size hash browns, I'll be gaining 10 pounds a week until the promo is over.

Meanwhile...
