I used to live around the corner from the original Potbelly's. I probably ate there once a week.

Is there a clear best shake at Arby's?

Having never had one before, I'm planning to get one next time I go.

I'm torn between:
Chocolate
Orange Cream
Jamocha (chocolate and coffee flavored)
And Ultimate Chocolate (made with Ghirardelli chocolate)

It’s not orange cream which is merely ok. Not sure I’ve had any of the others lately.

Apparently there is a bug in the McDonalds app where it will allow you to stack the 2 for $5 sandwich promo with the $3 off of $10 app deal. The $3 off of $10 deal is looking at the regular price of the sandwich and not the sale price. You can get two sandwiches for as low as $5-$3 or $2!

Works best if both sandwiches are > $5 normally else you need to add a cookie.

I assume it will be fixed soon.

NYS Thruway McDonald's don't accept the app's deals. Going from $1 sandwiches to Thruway prices is just plain rude. However, since you're already paying $10 bucks for a Big Mac meal, went for a Bacon Smokehouse for an extra dollar, quite good.

Recent TB trip was quite satisfying. Mini chicken quesadilla, mini beef quesadilla, fritos burrito, cheesy bean and rice burrito. Happy hour, so baja blast (ldo), add an order of nacho fries. Dispersed the fries and nacho cheese among the other 4 items, drowned everything in copious amounts of fire and diablo sauce. Delicious and filling for 6 bucks and change.

Obviously you're going to have to get one every day until you can decide.

Found a small fast food chain in Kampala named 2K that serves only Ugandan food:

they have 3-4 locations, all in Kampala.

Standard fast food counter service/ordering, with dine in tables:

your food is brought to you by one of the staff when it's ready, which is about 4-5 minutes after ordering. I went with "goat mpombo with food", which is a luwombo (meat stew/soup) variant:

and includes a bunch of side veggies / starches (the "food").

Here's the goods:

that's a passionfruit juice on the left. The goat mpombo is cooked (and arrived in) the banana leaves in the upper right. I wasn't fast enough to get a photo before the person bringing the food emptied the goat from the banana leaves into the steel bowl, but that's where it came from.

Close up of "the food":

That's shredded carrot / cabbage / tomatoes on the right, along with some avocado chunks. To the left of that is spicy potatoes, then rice with additional roasted goat meat, then some matooke, cassava, arrowroot, and a couple other things I don't know. I ate them all, tho.

And the goat mpombo itself:

incredibly tender goat that gets steam slow cooked for hours in the banana leaves. You give it a stern look and it falls right off the bone.

Total price: $6.75

Heading to Kigali, Rwanda next week. Haven't found any local fast food chains there yet but haven't looked very much. This one will be difficult to top.

I miss the Black Cow shakes at Arbys. But I'd probably go with Jamocha too.

Ah, the 70s! I picture them all wearing bell bottom jeans and drinking delicious Arbys black cow shakes while they were writing that.

I tried them out last night in Newport Beach. Delicious.

Wife and I got the Coop Deville (fried chicken, pickled fresno chilies, lime mayo, napa cabbage, brioche) and Firebird (spicy fried thigh, cool ranch, crispy onions, pickles, potato roll)

The place was awesome but damn pricey. Each of those sandwiches were $12. The fries were $6. Drinks $2.75

Also the lemonade was great. Especially if you're a fan of strong tart lemonade.

What sauces do they have? I was looking at their menu online and couldn't find them.

Only weird hippies wore bellbottoms and those people didn't eat Arby's.

They had a bunch of different sauces.

Ranch
Sweet and Hot
Sriracha Thousand Island
Kimchi BBQ
Spicy
Cracked Sauce (like a ketchup and BBQ mix or something)

I enjoyed the novelty of all of the sauces. My favorites were probably the ranch (reminded me a little of WingStop ranch), Sriracha Thousand Island and Cracked sauce. I only used the sauces on the fries.

I thought it was interesting that they didn't seem to have ketchup or honey mustard

Very nice. FYI, you can sub the spicy chicken thigh for the coop deville and other chicken sandwiches (it's what I did in SD). Crack Shack is awesome and I can't wait to eat it the next time I am in CA.

Malucci Mac. Subbed Mac sauce on the McDouble then pieced it together all for the low low price of $2.59 w $1 sandwich coupon. It was McD-lightful.
