Sadly, i disagree as the coffee usually sucks too but this is still high variance and you can find some good locations.

For example (and as advice to anyone in Chicago), the DD on Lake b/w Dearborn & State has good coffee. All the other DDs in the Loop are ass.

Edit: I moved out of Chicago in summer 2017 so please don't blame me if the Lake St DD has gone to hell since then!

Someone suggested I try their steak egg and cheese.

I took a bite, and it oozed juice, and not in a good way. It was watery and weird.

How can anyone think McDonalds fries are the GOAT? They're pretty good when fresh and lose most quality pretty much within a few minutes. I always imagine they tasted a lot better when they used lard (I think I heard that they used to) but I, unfortunately, will never know.

Not that I'm saying that McDonalds fries are bad, but GOAT material? I don't think so.

All the dunk hate is warranted 100%. All of their food beyond donuts is crap and they water down their coffee way too much.

Full disclosure, I like dunking coffee, but brew it at home. $5.99 a pound. I used to buy the odd coffee in store, but they are so weak it isn't even enjoyable.

Wendy’s anywhere close to Habit is insane to me. It is clearly in the Mcd, BK tier.

I don’t know the exact way to word this but there are places where the beef tastes like beef you buy at a grocery store (Habit, Five Guys, Burgerfi) and then there is Wendy’s, McDonalds, Burger King, etc where it doesn’t.

Five Guys inconsistency in their fries have everything to do with their employee's not understanding that you have to double fry fresh cut fries. You start by dropping the basket for about 2 minutes, pick it up and let them rest for about a minute or two so that the water in the potato drains out, then you drop them back in for another 90 seconds or so. If done properly you get those hot, piping, long, crunchy stiff fries. When done incorrectly they are more of a mush and get even mushier once cold.
