No 2 for $2.50 deals within city limits.

Regarding the smoky jack, i saw the offer on a commercial. The jitb i went to (in seattle) did not have any signage for it, but they did have the burger. Just ask for a smokey jack combo.

That's how they get ya. Pay $6 for two quarter pounders, then they pound ya for the fries. Heaven forbid you pay full price for the soda too!

I'm more into package deals, burger plus fries, which the mcd app lacks. I'm probably spoiled by bk's coupon deals, $5 whopper combos all day.

Compare a $4.99 smokey jack combo or the previously mentioned $5 whopper combo to two QPCs for $6 no fries no drink.

I've found mcds signature burgers to be lacking as well. Mcdoubles taste like cardboard to me. Godammut MCD i used to love you so much, but your bloated and overpriced now.

Edit: let me give props to the mcd southern style chicken sandwich, which was almost chickdil a quality. Rip

At those prices, you may have more like a 2 for $4 menu. Double Cheeseburger here is $1.79.

Ouch. They were $1.09 in San Jose, which is why I was disappointed to see them at $1.19 here in the middle of nowhere.

Maybe Canada? So when he says $2.50 it's only $1.29 in real money.

Mother of God that's a lot of food LMAO! That would be 3 meals for me. 2 thighs and a wing and I've hit my fried chicken piece max.

How are you paying $6 for two quarter pounders. It's buy one get one free any sandwich. One of those surely isn't $6 a piece.

Also, I'm Chicago area and if I remember correctly I think it's usually 2 for 3.00 where I'm at on the "value menu". My go to is free medium mccafe whatever with any purchase. Purchase something real cheap and pair it with some food I already have. Or do the bogo sandwiches, but I have to be sure I want to eat two sandwiches quickly cause McD's doesn't do as well after it goes cold.

Seattle prices tho.

The interesting part to me is his BK honoring coupons with rest of the country pricing. Since I don't imagine they have lower labor costs than McD it has to hurt the bottom line.

Last night I went back to check for the 2 For $X menu - it's 2 for $3.50 at my McDs. So, the extra slice of cheese on the double cheeseburger (vs. McDouble) cost me ~ $1. Pick 2 McChicken & McDouble + caramel sundae/extra caramel came to $6.25 after tax, which still seems too high compared to everywhere else I've lived but at least is within shouting distance of reasonableness.

The one pleasantly surprising thing is this McD's did not charge me to sub mac sauce instead of ketchup/mustard, and also did not charge for a packet of Hot Mustard. I was bracing to be hit with 50c charges for both.

Had the CFA breakfast bowl w/nuggets & the new burrito w/sausage today. Quite good as expected. Portion size isn't huge, but sufficient. Jalapeno salsa is a winner.

Jaw,

No free sundae on the app?

I go to McD's so rarely I haven't bothered to download (as opposed to CFA, were I go even more rarely because it's far away, but I feel it's like a fan club of sorts and I want to be included).

Tried the Smoky Jack burger today. It was actually not bad, but it didn't taste very... well, smoky. Will probably give it another go though.

I had Panda Express for I believe the first time. (I'm old and used to cruise for chicks at the mall so I may have had it before). Some sort of steak and some orange chicken with rice for 7$. It was average garbage Chinese food and the price seemed absurdly low. I was pleasantly surprised.

Doesn't sound low to me. Traditionally, chinese food has been cheap.

One of the few good things about living in the SF Bay area was there was a "chinese fast food" place, as they described it, where the standard fried rice and entree was under 6 bucks. And this was in San Jose.

I've only been to Panda X once, and the thing I remember most was how slow they were. 2 guys in front of me and it took me 10 minutes to get out of there. Second thing I remember was how blah the food was, worse than a tv dinner.

$5.69 each. Tried the Sriracha grilled chicken signature burger at mcd, imo Sriracha does not belong on a burger. Ate 1/3 of it before tossing the top bun.

$4.09 for a sausage mcmuffin with egg, ouch. McPick 2 for $3.50.

This probably anathema to this thread but on the rare occasions I get Panda Express I usually get 1-2 of the healthier options and half veggies/half rice and I actually think the food is way better than the fried stuff.

Panda express - Double orange chicken, steamed rice. Steamed rice is key. Fresh and easy. Goes much better with fried items. The fried rice and lo mein are pure grease.

Welcome to the future. When the cost of inputs goes up the price goes up.
