Their meatball sub is awesome, IMO.
I'm guessing you haven't had too many MB Subs in your life. Firehouse MB is better than Subway. That isn't high praise.

I had the same recommendation the 1st time I went to Firehouse. It was also my last time at Firehouse which may be a bit of an overreaction but with so many better options I have no desire to go back.

It's the best FF chain sub I've ever had. Is there a better FF chain sub of any kind out there? What about FF Italian sub specifically?
. I think Jerseys is the best. I like to add pickles and the chili sauce too which aren't included in Mikes way. The Chipolte Steak and Cheese there is also some sloppy goodness when you are looking for a hot sub.

order a '99' for a cheese steak with grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, jalapenos, extra cheese, and chipotle mayo. i've had their version of a reuben and it didn't seem worth ordering again. haven't tried their hot sandwich versions of meatball, chicken parm, etc.

have had different versions of their cold subs 'mikes way' and they are tasty and def. a better value than what you'll get at slobway.

I'm still pro-eating in but today I was put to the test.

I was eating lunch at a packed In-N-Out. The booth seat I'm at is shared with the table behind me. There was an older woman sitting in the shared seat behind me that either had a palsy or nervous condition that just shook the hell out of my seat almost the whole time I was eating. She must have burned some serious calories for that period.

No way was I going to confront her and find out she has Parkinsons or something. That shake was way more than just a nervous knee...

you get fries or hashbrowns and they don't have meat on them, right? i suggest you start by considering the cheesy bean and rice as a side order that augments your regular meal and see what you think. it's doesn't have to be the foundation of your fast food meal (although it could be when ordered in multiple), but it's a damn tasty compliment. at $1 i also feel much less ripped off than i do spending $1.50 on fries that come from a 5 lb bag that i can buy retail for the same amount.

if you report back with honesty and don't like the experience i will ship you $1+applicable tax via PayPal for your troubles...how's that for a deal? just post a pic of the receipt in the thread and PM me your PP address.
Okay, I figured that you probably ordered it because it was only $1. I don't care about price with FF for the most part. I get what I want. I don't scour the cheap stuff unless it looks good to me, and a bean and rice burrito would never catch my eye...I would go beefy mini quesadilla if I was looking through the $1 menu.

I feel your comparison to fries is totally bunk because Fries are obviously meat free (unless you're ordering chili cheese fries, or baconator fries, etc). Burritos, at their best, have meat in them (and sometimes egg).

However, because I respect you as a poster, your opinions, and your thorough way of posting, the other day I went and got a cheesy bean and rice burrito. I didn't like it very much. It was just a beany, sloppy mess really. I much prefer the beefy mini quesadilla if we're talking $1 items, but when I'm at Taco Bell I'm getting the delicious meaty big ticket items I like, because life is too short to eat cheesy bean and rice burritos because they're only $1. I would never, in a million years, ask for or accept $1 through PayPal, so don't worry, you're not on any hook for that.

On a side note, I went to Taco Bell tonight, and per your recommendation, I did get a shredded chicken burrito grilled, and that was good, and as there was some drive thru confusion, the lady asked "Did you want that with grilled chicken instead of shredded chicken?" so, naturally, I ended up getting both a grilled chicken and a shredded chicken burrito both grilled, and they were good...but not sure they were much better than they would be normally. Next time I'll have to go and get one grilled one not and compare.

Anyway, in conclusion, I love and respect you Redeyes, but I still firmly stand behind my disdain for ordering meatless items at Taco Bell, and the CBR burrito did nothing to sway me from that stance.

Also, I agree with you that Jersey Mike's is dope.

I had a cheesy bean and rice burrito tonight. And a spicy potato soft taco! No meat! Sometimes I feel like sucking on sloppy cheesy beans and a soft tortilla, so I get that.

Taco Bell kind of makes me mad right now because I have gone away from being a value menu guy to a big ticket guy (I love it, thanks Malucci) and the triple double crunchwrap pisses me off!

I've developed an unhealthy love of taco bell's chicken soft tacos with shredded chicken add tomatoes.

there is a sonic right next to a taco bell not to far from my house and I've downed 5 of the soft tacos n a watermelon slush waaaaaaaaay too many times in the past month.

They are selling loose cigarillos now at select White Castles. Three bucks at my local. A bit of a rip-off, but I can never finish a pack before they go stale so this is good news for me.

thanks for those who posted about the Wendy's chili seasoning. Got the taco salad today, and got the seasoning packets. They really make the chili, which I always liked but found a bit bland, much much better.

Yep I forgot about those chili packets for a few years. Makes the chili ELITE.

Also, the Italian at jersey mikes is easily top 3 FF sandwich as others mentioned previously

Disagree...their honey roasted BBQ is amazing...don't understand why it's in packets instead of dipping cups. Perhaps they're just trying to avoid creating more fiends, which from a business standpoint doesn't make sense. Then again, neither does being closed on Sundays.

Haven't given Costco a shoutout in awhile....obv it's not exactly fast food but given how I live near a Costco that never really gets busy it's damn nice to roll in a get a hot dog with all the fixings and a soda for $1.63. Usually 3-4 people in line and parking is easy so I'm probably pretty biased but if you're going cheap it's basically impossible to beat

Biggest beat is that it is Pepsi products only on the drink with no Diet Dr Pepper. Boo!

Also another thanks to the people who suggested grilling the cheesy bean n rice burrito. That's good eats there, amazing value IMO.

I absolutely love eating lunch at Costco. I have a membership card that expired in 2006 that I use just to get in to eat hot dogs and chicken bakes.
