you get fries or hashbrowns and they don't have meat on them, right? i suggest you start by considering the cheesy bean and rice as a side order that augments your regular meal and see what you think. it's doesn't have to be the foundation of your fast food meal (although it could be when ordered in multiple), but it's a damn tasty compliment. at $1 i also feel much less ripped off than i do spending $1.50 on fries that come from a 5 lb bag that i can buy retail for the same amount.
if you report back with honesty and don't like the experience i will ship you $1+applicable tax via PayPal for your troubles...how's that for a deal? just post a pic of the receipt in the thread and PM me your PP address.
Okay, I figured that you probably ordered it because it was only $1. I don't care about price with FF for the most part. I get what I want. I don't scour the cheap stuff unless it looks good to me, and a bean and rice burrito would never catch my eye...I would go beefy mini quesadilla if I was looking through the $1 menu.
I feel your comparison to fries is totally bunk because Fries are obviously meat free (unless you're ordering chili cheese fries, or baconator fries, etc). Burritos, at their best, have meat in them (and sometimes egg).
However, because I respect you as a poster, your opinions, and your thorough way of posting, the other day I went and got a cheesy bean and rice burrito. I didn't like it very much. It was just a beany, sloppy mess really. I much prefer the beefy mini quesadilla if we're talking $1 items, but when I'm at Taco Bell I'm getting the delicious meaty big ticket items I like, because life is too short to eat cheesy bean and rice burritos because they're only $1. I would never, in a million years, ask for or accept $1 through PayPal, so don't worry, you're not on any hook for that.
On a side note, I went to Taco Bell tonight, and per your recommendation, I did get a shredded chicken burrito grilled, and that was good, and as there was some drive thru confusion, the lady asked "Did you want that with grilled chicken instead of shredded chicken?" so, naturally, I ended up getting both a grilled chicken and a shredded chicken burrito both grilled, and they were good...but not sure they were much better than they would be normally. Next time I'll have to go and get one grilled one not and compare.
Anyway, in conclusion, I love and respect you Redeyes, but I still firmly stand behind my disdain for ordering meatless items at Taco Bell, and the CBR burrito did nothing to sway me from that stance.
Also, I agree with you that Jersey Mike's is dope.
