chicagoans and some people in the greater LA area are lucky to have portillos. my all time favorite fast food place. something about their chili dogs and italian beef. the chili dogs are weird, cause if you were to just get the chili, i don't think it'd be very good, but on a hot dog with cheese and onions. so good.

also, i don't care that there are a millions better places in chicago to get your dogs or beefs. go **** yourself you elitist pricks. i grew up in the burbs that this originated in and i love it.

Villa Park!? Nice, me too. And I second everything said here. Also beef and cheddar croissant ftmfw.

Agree, the spicy chicken will always be a draw but wendys doesn't offer much vale elsewhere

yah, both villa park and elmhurst. i used to get this as a kid, but since i don't live in chicago anymore, i can't not get a beef with sweet + hot, the few chances i make it there.

a good turn of events happened, when my parents decided to move out to s. cali to retire, and a few years ago they opened a portillos just 20 miles from them, making visits a tiny bit more bearable.

my friend just posted a pic of a chicago dog from sonic, and it looks pretty legit. looks like all the toppings. their site doesn't claim vienna beef hot dog.

he must have seen the same commercial i saw last night. they have 4 new dogs ranging from chicago style to something loaded in jalapenos. sadly i am not driving 45m to try a sonic hot dog.

i googled new sonic hot dog and found a better description:

if you havent had the banana pudding shake from chickfila, you are missing out on a huge part of life.

last tuesday i was feeling particularly down, so i had two spicy chicken biscuits and one chicken breakfast burrito for breakfast, a banana pudding shake for lunch, and chipotle for dinner.

had the Wendy's spicy asiago ranch chicken club that Noah suggested, it was pretty good but not spectacular nor an improvement over the regular spicy chicken. Wendy's chili is still pretty good (I used to get it all the time back when their fries were still awful) but I think the nut fast food chili is Quizno's.

no, i did the spikes challenge.. twice in fact. and i'm thinking about doing it again because i heard a new location was opening up and i wanna be one of the first to get my picture up (i prob. won't end up doing this).

i think i even mentioned in that thread that i wasn't really wild about hot dogs. i just like a challenge and the free t-shirt and pic on the wall.
