being from sacramento as well, I hope you can agree that Squeeze Inn >>>> in n out

I'm sorry to say that I haven't been there yet. I don't make it south of 50 very often, but if it's that good I'll have to make a special trip to test your assessment.

Filet O Fishes are awesome.

Best Fast Food item: Spicy Chicken from Wendy's, of course.

Best burger: Culver's double bacon butterburger.

Best Fries: Portillo's cheese fries are absolutely bomb. From true fast food places, imo it's still tough to beat a good batch of McD's fries.

Best Value Menu: McDonalds

Best Value Menu item: BK's buck doubles

Best "gross" fast food order: Double Cheeseburgers from White Castle, so ****ing good but after eating 4 of these toilet homicide is imminent.

Worst fast food restaurant: Taco Bell, ainec

I've tried Zaxby's a couple times, once in the Birmingham, AL area(some suburb like Hoover or something and there's one about 10 minutes from my house, not anywhere near Alabama, just so my tiny sample size of 2 includes multiple states at least) and was seriously underwhelmed. Most people told me it was just like Raising Cane's and I bought it. Having been to both places, Raising Cane's is like Taco Cabana and Zaxby's is like Taco Bell(a lot of people probably won't get that comparison, sucks that you will never know better than Taco Bell for your 3am drunk food) because they both sell similar items, but they are worlds apart. It's mostly in the sauce cause Canes puts heroin or crack in their sauce(and their toast is a lot better also) I believe, and Zaxby's chicken dipping sauce sucks; I ended up just using ketchup when I ate there.

I know In-n-Out is making a very aggressive push into the DFW area right now. I don't know what their marketing strategy is for the rest of the country because I know they want to have their own meat processing plant(or something like that) local to their stores to keep everything the In-n-Out way. I realize it is easier to do this in Texas compared to states like Missouri or Nebraska or the other fly-over states because there's 25 million people here(not counting the day laborers or whatever the politically correct term is today), but it does seem like they are working on expanding their operations cross-country.

I should have given Arby's curly fries dipped in Arby's sauce an honorable mention, those are great

I remember Checker's fries being awesome, but I haven't had Checker's in a few years so I should prob. refresh my memory at some point

chicagoans and some people in the greater LA area are lucky to have portillos. my all time favorite fast food place. something about their chili dogs and italian beef. the chili dogs are weird, cause if you were to just get the chili, i don't think it'd be very good, but on a hot dog with cheese and onions. so good.

also, i don't care that there are a millions better places in chicago to get your dogs or beefs. go **** yourself you elitist pricks. i grew up in the burbs that this originated in and i love it.

My only gripe with the Filet O' Fish is that sometimes there is just waaaaaaaaaay too much tartar sauce on them.

Smart man, Checkers had all those sweet deals too, like the 2-1 Bacon Buford Swiss, plus red onion, shredded lettuce and mayo is standard on their burgers. I'm a pretty big Checkers mark, but their are none in Manhattan, only one in Co-Op City in the Bronx.

Think I'm gonna hit Sonic tonight for my next review. Never been there before but there have been good things said about their burgers and coney dogs ITT. I know tots (chili cheese?) are a must too, any other really great items there?

the drinks. The breakfast toaster sandwiches are decent if you like having breakfast at non breakfast hours.

Aww man, the Filet-o-Fish and McRib are both delicious.

I can never figure out why I don't get Wendy's burgers more often.

I think the McRib is disgusting.

Anyway, went to McD's today in hopes of getting a $0.99 Filet O Fish. Nope. The deal is buy one Filet meal and get an extra sandwich for $0.29. Of course I got it, but I ended up spending $6 instead of the $3 that I had planned on.

Cherry-Lime CreamSlush ftw. The CreamSlush is the bastard offspring of a milkshake and a slush, lighter and more refreshing than a shake but more substantial than a slush.

watermelon creamslush is the nuts at Sonic. Cherry Limeade is the workhorse Sonic drink especially on hot days.

they are absolutely known for their roast beef sandwiches. They aren't, however, known for ****ing COLD CUTS with a slice of cheese. like I said, that makes up 2 or 3 items on their menu.

reading comprehension ftw, ******!

Big fast food run for me lately.

Popped my A&W cherry this week at (appropriately enough) the Cherry Hill Mall.

Obviously grew up drinking A&W root beer, was completely unaware that they had a fast food chain until a few years ago. They are not very widespread in the Mid-Atlantic area. So had to give it a try.

Anyways, ordered a cheeseburger, large cheese curds, and rootbeer ldo.

The burger was so-so...not a lot of meat volume, and the sesame bun was on the dry side.

The cheese curds were a revelation. They were like little mozzarella sticks, only the cheese had a sharper flavor. They don't usually have **** like this in New Jersey, so this was a delightful treat.

Next day, banged out an Angus Bacon cheese at Ronnie's. I don't know about you, but the Angus Bacon cheese reminds me of the old Roy Rogers bacon cheese's back in the day. They have the same taste profile (from what I remember 25 years ago). Gotta be one of the better things on McD's menu nowadays. Excellent batch of fries, too. Then, got my fat ass stuck trying to slide down the yellow spiral slide in the Play Place.

QUESTION:

Does anyone else remember the Barbecued Chicken at KFC? When I was a little kid, iirc it was offered at most but not all locations; it was an everyday option just like regular or extra crispy. By 1982, for a treat my mom would drive me to the next town over to get it because all the closer locations no longer carried it. We moved, and I had eaten my last piece. I dream about it to this day. Something about the way the barbecue sauce was infused into the skin was amazing and unique. And no, the bbq wings or boneless stuff they have now isn't comparable.

When I was a kid, I remembered KFC offered BBQ Beef ribs for about a summer. I thought they were awesome.

Since we're reminiscing, I could really use a McD's pizza right about now. God those were good. Everyone I know loved them, I still can't understand why they stopped selling them.
