First trip to Culvers

Double cheeseburger with bacon - a bit overdone, but still juicy and good flavor. Bacon was crisp.
Deep fried curds - excellent
Double scoop chocolate pecan sunday. Like I swalllowed a cinder block in a good way.

Would nom again, and if I lived near one, I'd probably weigh three bills easily. Really good.

Five Guys near my work just opened. I put in an online order for a cheesburger at lunch today. Place was packed. 30 people waiting for food and another 20 in line. I scoot to the front and say "Bob K online order" The guy shouts to the end of the line to get my order. Some lady near the front of the food waiting pack exclaims "Is that how it works? You do an online order and just go to the front and say your name?" The guy handed me my bag and I got out of there before the mob could take my head off.

Cheeseburger with grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, ketchup, mustard, relish,& tomatoes delivered as always.

People use the concept "value" in this thread all the time. In almost all cases, it refers to a greater quantity of bad food at the same or better price than a superior quality item. Why can't high quality FF items also be a great value?

I didn't say 5G was bad value, I wouldn't say it's great value though especially in my area. I just said 2 InO burgers is better overall value than a 5G burger. I'm factoring in quality in that statement.

In-n-Out fries aren't the best right out of the gate, the trick is to take them home, dust them slightly with cornmeal, let them sit in the freezer overnight and then poach them the following day in goose fat. Delicious.

Put me in the rare minority of this thread that prefers well done in and out fries fresh and eaten right away to 5 guys. Agree that 5 guys burger is better and more options.

I don't mind In N out fries. They aren't the best, but "horrible" is beyond a stretch.

Plus animal style fries are delicious. If you are a baby and you can't eat fries that aren't deep fried in beef lard then try adding half a pound of cheese grilled onions and thousand island dressing to them.

Just been to five guys for the 1st time.

In the UK btw.

Yes it is good but **** me, £15+ for a burger, fries and drink. Which is what, $23?

Is that the same sort of price you guys are paying in Umerica?

no it's about 1/2 of that. Which is still really expensive.

To me, it's not fair to compare INO to 5G. You recognize the price difference, but seem to dismiss it. 5G is premium, and should be compared to other premium burger places like Shake Shack, BurgerFi, etc. Places where you spend $11-14 for a burger, fries and soda.

INO charges $7 for that. INO is a *regular* burger place, and should be compared to McDonalds, Wendy's and Burger King. What does a quarter pounder with cheese value meal cost where you live? I was floored that in Reno I could get a "number 1" at INO for less than a turkey foot long at Subway or less than a QPwC value meal at McDonalds.

Assuming you are serious, they would cease to be INO fries.

I don't know about everywhere, but half price cheeseburgers at Sonic where I am. I think it's just the regular cheeseburger. If I go before 4, also half price drinks and 99c corndogs. Obv I'm going to go before 4.

daryn,

Awesome chicken and turkey sandwiches - those look pretty great. In honor of those great posts, I got this yesterday:

http://splitbread.com/eat/menu/
Original crispy chicken, savory jalapeno slaw, black bean puree, house pickles, hickory smoked aioli on a toasted bun
Of course, lolsanfrancisco 10.95 + tax = ~$12. Pretty great though! (**** on top is some black bean puree I accidentally got on the bun)

Then I noticed they had this new sandwich:
Southern crispy chicken, house pickles, shredded lettuce, herb mayo on a toasted bun
So I went back and got it today. I thought it might be a differently seasoned more chick-fil-a tasting breast, but it was the same. Pretty good, but their original version is way tastier.

Is it wrong to secretly stuff your pockets with peanuts to maximize value at Five Guys?

Back in college friends and i went to a local bar's wing night once (was like all you can eat for 10$). I was pretty full and ordered another plate anyway. Put the rest of the wings in the pockets of my shorts lol

Just got two cheeseburgers, corn dog, and pineapple slush.

The cheeseburgers were good, to my shock/horror, they're regularly $4.49. So half price puts them closer to where they should be.
