OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.

Instead of the usual back-and-forth of "lol McDonald's sucks," "yeah, but Taco Bell isn't REAL Mexican food," "u gonna get fat" and "no u" I'd like to keep the discussion ITT on track and devoted to our love of delicious fast food items (don't get me wrong, if you think a particular fast food place or item sucks, by all means say so, but explain why rather than just linking to the trailer for Super Size Me or whatever).

To get the discussion started, here's what I'm going to do. I haven't had a ton of fast food lately, and there are a lot of new items that I am curious about but have yet to try. I'm going to take suggestions on things to try. I'll go out and do a taste test and post a detailed review. Others are more than welcome to join me in reviewing, of course. I'll try to try something new and post a review at least once every couple days (this thread might end up rather hazardous to my health).

Because there's often debate on what exactly constitutes "fast food," I'm going to go with a broad definition for the purposes of discussion - fast-casual places like Chipotle, Quizno's, etc. will be included, as well as gas station deli-type places like Wawa, Sheetz, etc.

For the purposes of making suggestions, here is a list of fast food/fast casual restaurants I have easy access to:

-McDonald's
-Burger King
-Hardee's
-Chick-fil-A
-Sonic (never been here)
-Wendy's
-KFC
-Arby's
-Long John Silver's (never been)
-Subway
-Quizno's
-Checkers (never been)
-Chipotle
-Five Guys
-Taco Bell
-Dunkin' Donuts
-Popeye's
-Wawa
-Royal Farms

probably missing a couple, but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. I haven't had dinner tonight and don't have any plans, so suggestions will be accepted starting immediately!

As much as I'm not a McD's fan, that Chipolte BBQ Angus has me super intrigued.

Sonic is very meh in terms of everything except tater tots and drinks....but those are both good enough to warrant adding it to my Fast Food rotation.

If you are going to try Sonic I remcommend:

Bacon Cheesburger Toaster- Cheese Tots(If you like Chili get Chili Cheese Tots ldo)- and a Drink of your liking

http://www.sonicdrivein.com/menu/vie...ctionId=436802

So many Drinks and you can pretty much make your own if you know waht they have.

Taco Bell seems like the obvious answer here, but the McDonald's dollar menu is fairly solid as well. For $5 you can get 3 McDoubles, fries and a soda, which is a ******** of food.

Wendy's has a pretty good chicken and bacon sandwich, fries, and a drink for ~$3. Best cheap deal IMO.

I've only had samples of Chick-Fil-A because the only one I have access to is next to a Panda Express in a food court, so it's drawing dead. But the samples were amazing and I hear in general Chick-Fil-A is great.

A Five Guys just opened up near my (non-college) home, so I needa try that. I hear the burgers are amazing but the fries suck?

Sonic used to be soooo good. The supersonic cheeseburgers were so juice and amazing, but my last 2 experiences were weak, and the "new Sonic good" may have ruined it for me.

On that note, I've been on a health binge for the last month eating mosltly egg-whites, turkey, and veggies, but now I'm starving. Omg.

/EDIT: Culver's is as good as it gets. Triple butterburger basket, cheese curds and a concrete mixer. That meal vs. Panda Express Orange Chicken triple entree (with an occasional Beijing beef, sweet fire chicken breast, or honey walnut shrimp subbed in for 1 entree) are my top 2 fast food meals AINEC.

BK's One Buck Double is probably the best Value Menu burger I've come across. Jumbo Jack is I guess second, but I don't think you can get one of those for under $1.50 anymore.

No way, I haven't heard anyone make a complaint about their fries other than you get too many of them.

2 McDoubles and 2 4 piece nuggets was my default order for a very long time until I stopped lifting and thus stopped being hungry enough to plow through all that food.

I was going to try a Sonic hot dog (NY style) since I really don't want to buy a whole pack at the grocery store - are they similar to ones you get at sporting events?

Yeah, you got it backwards, 5 Guys fries are totally awesome (9/10), burgers are good and solid but not amazing (7/10).

Is Wendy's still good? There's one by my place but I haven't had it in years.

My standard order was the Spicy Chicken Sandwich with fries.

Any recs on the best Wendy's orders are welcome!

Al - Wendy's new fries are very good and a huge improvement over the old ones. I might have to try some of their other sandwiches though, the spicy chicken is the only thing I've ordered there in like the past 10 years.

Five Guys burgers are fantastic. and yeah you get a lot of fries. They're good but a little soggy(a negative if you don't like that). definitely recommend but you're probably gonna spend ~8+ if you go all out. could probably get out with a cheeseburger for $5.

Conflicting opinions on the new fries! I will have to try some time this week. Will report back to the thread.
