Grando always goes the hardest. My favorite FF, frozen pizza, and chicken wing champion. Cheers!

whoa. I wonder if grando's "friend" will show up.

pretty sure grando orders the most food per order. That's a compliment btw - I order bulk a lot and reheat. Too lazy to make multiple trips to a FF joint.

Fake picture.
If that were real, there would be at least three pitchers of beer on that table.

The 3 seats were for the judges making sure we ate them all

Beat: I hate spicy food and my friend went ballistic after eating some stupid 5 alarm spice one that I never intended to eat. He made me eat one as well. Still hating life.

Brag: they let us take the leftovers home

Variance: threw $100 into the local 'slot' and spiked $440 on wild life. Free wings this time bitches.

Rolled up to the window and say the price at 8.69+tax and had a bit of sticker shock but went with it and added a few sliders. Made sure to emphasize LOTS of horsey packets. Get to the window and there's 5 in the bag, so I send this amateur back for some more and he comes back with another 4. Not the best but it'll do. Pull over to park and find this disappointment in the bag. 10 bucks?!

Anyways, no big deal as it turns out it's probably the best arbys item I've ever had. Extremely delicious and every part of it works perfectly together. Wish it wasn't so expensive but the only regret I had today was not getting back in line for another.

Tangent: I still don't understand the Carl's Jr./Hardees divide. Why haven't they gone one way or the other? I'm sure there's some financial reason why it makes sense, but I just don't get it.

It's like Best Foods/Hellmann's where it's a matter of existing strong, regional brand loyalty after an acquisition/merger.

Status quo rules the day.

I get that line of thinking for a transitional period, but it's been like 25 years.

Mayo been going on closer to a hundo.

Quote:
In 1922, after sales of the mayonnaise were launched in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Hellmann began building a larger (5-story) factory at 34-08 Northern Boulevard in Long Island City; while honeymooning in San Francisco, California, Hellmann decided to open a plant there too, setting up an office and soliciting salesmen. In 1922 the Hellmann's mayonnaise cookbook was published by Behrman in Chicago.[4]

Hellmann's Blue Ribbon ad from 1922.
While Hellmann's Mayonnaise thrived on the U.S. East Coast, selling $15 million a year by 1927 with $1 million in profits, the California company Postum Foods (later Best Foods) introduced their own mayonnaise, Best Foods Mayonnaise, which became popular on the West Coast, and was operating a major plant in San Francisco. In August 1927 Postum Foods bought the Hellmann's brand, allowing Hellmann to retire. By then both brands of mayonnaise had such commanding market shares in their respective halves of the country that the company decided that both brands and recipes be preserved in their respective territories.

I can understand having two different products on the same shelf or two different FF spots in the same state, but "regional loyalty" doesn't really seem like a thing. If the brands aren't actually "competing" in the same space, it still seems dumb to me.

Whatevs, I'm just a simple consumer.

Perhaps they should come up with a new name, and move both to that.

I'll leave it to the FF wizards of OOT to come up with something. Nominations are open!

But why?

It's a solution in search of a problem. If the divide is neat (Rocky Mountains in the mayo example), why rock the boat?

They're (now) the same product. It's just a different, regional label.

Do people in New York have any brand loyalty to In-N-Out?

Do Californians?

That's the point. They chose not to, nor replace one with the other. The reason why is immediate (and beyond) financial implications.

You're not simple. The simple consumers are the ones they're worried about.

you wont find a carls jr next to a hardees or vice versa. They were two seperate companies once upon a time but carls jr bought them and they slowly merged into one nationwide company. Prior to that carls jr was a west us company and hardees was an east us company
