How much do y’all think the owner makes when you come in and order 26 things with the app and pay .39 cents for the entire order? (But yes please still pay the crew $15 hourly min)

Do y’all see the problem here?
i so look forward to your elaboration on this statement, especially in regards to 26 items and paying $0.39.
i think we're gunna need to see some receipts for that, bro.

workers may not be working any harder, but it sure seems their wages should at least be indexed to inflation for the same period, wouldn't you agree?

You guys are a bit too literal-do you not see the disconnect between cheap food and high wages?

Well I was trolling around and looking for something to stuff up my ass. It so happens that Arby's is who I reached first, and into the drive thru I went. I was almost 100% expecting to get proper hamburger action going when I set out, and now I'm at Arby's and feeling pretty disenchanted with the menu.

I ended up getting a beef and greek gyro. And that's it. No potato cakes, no FFDP. The good news is they were both excellent, in my estimation. The roast beef was VOLUMINOUS. Definitely worth 6 bucks. Not completely satisfying, and as I now sit at home I'm pretty upset I didn't also get some sort of combo meal.

I feel like the pic doesn't tell the proper story. This thing was large and heavy.

Except that consumers like yourself won’t pay for the difference.

Let me give y’all a little hint-it’s a profit game-as owners there is no motivation to offer the service unless we can make a little profit. How much profit to you think an operator makes as a percentage of the gross sale? How much does he/she budget for labor? If they miss their labor by as little as 10% how much does that affect net margins? What about a 10% discount on sales price?

Wow dude, thanks for explaining how capitalism works. We had no idea it was about profit.

Why are you defending a faceless corporation that doesn’t give a **** about you?

Like really, ask yourself why.

Please stop. Nobody is interested in answering your machine-gun questioning. No offense, just no.

I'm at peace with my pursuit of HOT FRESH VALUE damning FF workers to poverty wages.

I’m not going to drag this topic out any further than this post, but I’m more than willing to pay a bit more for food if it means I’m helping to contribute to actual living wages for the people that make and serve it.
that’s one of the primary reasons I eat a whole lot more from local places instead of national chains.

Your right. Prices and wages aren’t linked. It’s too hard to even think about

Can’t a mod ban this dumb Karen or something? What a loser this thread is solely devoted to cramming cheap mass produced trash foods into our bums at as an efficient a cost we can app ourselves into

I thought the Taco Bell potatoes figured heavily into their breakfast menu, I’m surprised they are gone. Never go to TB for breakfast tho, not that I’m opposed to it I’m just not as big on FF breakfast and if I am it’s McDonald’s usually (love the big breakfast combo with hot cakes for 5$ great value)

BFB is gone from TB, at least the one I normally frequent. they hadn't updated the menu but I was able to purchase one of those new $1 "Beef" Burritos instead.

the "beef" burrito is rice, beef & liquid nacho cheese. you can also get jalapeno ranch sauce on it but I declined.

And they give you that for a dollar? I have half a mind to get some.

I just downloaded the app based on this post, and I can find no such burrito. Cheesy bean and rice matches the description except for the beef part.

I like the local stuff, too. Sadly, though, their COVID-era pricing seems to be increasing more quickly, and to a greater degree, than the national chains'. And that's the trouble with big wages for menial work. Economies of scale or whatever allow McDonald's et al to absorb big labor costs elsewhere over thousands of outlets. The Sausage Deli on First and Grant has one store and very few options but to raise prices and hope people love their sammiches enough to pay a more significant increase. Not being political, RedEyes--I love local grub.

My favorite local Italian joint had to close one of their two stores (the one close to my place (fml)) during the early shutdown. Not a single Pizza Hut or Carraba's around here will close, I'd bet. From my perspective, it's more a catch-22 than a political stance. Restaurant margins suck.

But I digress. Apologies.

I guess the point is I spend most of my food money at the grocery and cook my own. because of that, when I do eat out i lean towards local chains because I’m more than happy to toss a buck or two extra towards someone that actually lives in the same place as me.

they didn't have it listed on the menu yet so I guess it wouldn't be on the app yet (?) it did say "Beef Burrito $1" on the drive-thru order screen.

I took a pic...definitely beef and not bean (plus a lot of rice). this is the $1 value menu future folks...enjoy the preview.

Doesn't look like much but I'm sure it would be fun to eat 4-5.

You should change this. Breakfast crunch wrap is still the best breakfast sandwich in the business
