All the people in these shows and movies that do this stuff have signed a waiver. Either they signed it afterwards because they want to be on TV, or in the case of the SBC stuff, they sign it before thinking they are doing an interview or being filmed for something else.

I like the UK version much better. Maybe its just because it has a different accent, scenery, etc but I also like the way the UK version tells the story. The cinematography and colors are really unique in the UK version as well.

We're starting ep3 of the US version so perhaps I'll change my mind but I doubt it.

Without being a connoisseur by all means of British cinema, the pace definitely feels British and would be hard to duplicate a la American. And for the luv of God, I certainly hope they do not remake American counterparts of the German shows Dark or The Perfume who benefit from a distinct German pace!!!

The Borat Subsequent MovieFilm was incredible.

Also went through all 7 episodes of The Queen's Gambit on Netflix today. I really enjoyed it even though I'm not an avid chess player at all. Series a very "Beautiful Mind" feel to it.

I'd say the same applies to all the brilliant Scandi noir dramas that have come out the last few years.

Borat 2 was hysterical and had me stuck laughing a few times while watching it alone. He is one of the best at turning the mirror on society. Highly recommend.

Bron Broen (The Bridge) is fantastic television. Everything about it is so good. Never did myself thr disservice of watching the American remake. Pretty much anything I watch now is subtitled

apparently Michael C. Hall (Dexter) refused several times the request for a final season but eventually agreed on the condition that the director was the same guy from the seasons 1 through 4, they want to give it a proper ending this time around so it doesn't end up being a trainwreck like last time

I guess we'll see, I have low expectations but I'll give it a shot

Re: Netflix "Watch Instantly"

part of the fun is hearing the other languages and trying to repeat the funny sounding things they say

listening for cognates is fun too, plus dubbing is just terrible in every way

Lol whenever I stay with my parents my mum is always hooked on one of these Scandi shows.

I always a tell her that they sound like Bill and Ben the Flowerpot Men speaking their language, 'oddle poddle'.

Re: Netflix "Watch Instantly"

the problem with dark is that the default was to play it dubbed.....i don't think a lot of people thought to change it or that they could.
