Was completely out of series to watch so wife took over control and she started to watch Good Girls. Watched a bit just to see what´s up, and can honestly say its quite fun. Not great but not terrible, if you get what I mean. Would def recommend it if you are in a similar situation and dont have anything else to watch

Spoiler:
where I felt it won was the more subtle plot hints. So when they were invited to the bonfire, the viewer was clearly being made to think the plot could go full Wicker Man - that subterfuge really wound it up for me, although that does somewhat rely on having seen the Wicker Man

netflix has the season premieres of every season of jeopardy with trebek so i watched s1e1 and it was a lot more energetic, trebek is very excited. i thought it was suspicious that s1e1 started out with a champion. and his name rhymed with champion, i forget what it was but i thought that was strange.

not saying there's any conspiracy i just want an investigation

We watched all of Season 1 in a week and that’s rare. Already on Ep 4 of S2 this week.
I'm finding Killing Eve to be a little bit of a Handmaid's Tale situation - really excellent S1, starts dropping off in S2 when they don't quite know how to keep it going while still keeping it exciting and fresh.

Anyone know anything about The Last Czars (new on Netflix!), and if it's good? Can't find any reviews.

Agreed. Season 2 was all over the place, but Jodie Comer (Villanelle) is fantastic and makes the show worthwhile.

It came off as Breaking Bad for chicks.

Pretty much although nowhere near as good. I thought it started fairly well but after more and more and more of the same I just got sick of it and stopped watching around the middle of season 2.

Also bailed midway through S2 of Killing Eve. Too many eye-roll moments.

Yes, I didn't mean to imply is was anywhere near on the same level of quality as Breaking Bad. It was just an attempt to create the same type of show for the female viewing audience.

My girlfriend was watching it but said it got too silly and bailed on it in season 2.

I thought s2 significantly improved in the 2nd half of the season.

I bailed on Killing Eve after season one. It was written like an incredible eight episode series that halfway through was ordered to leave things open for more seasons. +1 on Comer.

Same here, it was annoyingly stupid at the end of season 2. We watched it only for the purpose of finishing it, and it was just OK. Was a bit annoyed to see them make the same stupid **** over and over again...

I got a month of Netflix for Stranger Things. If I search 20 movies I want to watch, I'm lucky to get a single hit. Most of their original content that they try to push on me to seems like made for tv crap. I used to have Netflix in 2003 and you could get 95% of the movies ever made on dvd. I wish they would just put all those films online instead of all this lame made for tv content they produce. But I guess they are more geared towards satisfying mouth breathers who previously channel surfed.

Their "made for tv crap" TV shows are top notch. Some of the movies are as good as or better than any "hollywood" production (some had budgets north of $100 million). Tho you really have to be careful because lots of the movies really suck, but you can pretty much blindly watch any netflix original TV show and odds are it will be good.

This isn't 2003 anymore, TV shows have far surpassed movies in terms of story telling and entertainment and are what most people watch now. Honestly id argue that movies are what the mouth breathers are busy with, there is rarely a movie that comes out anymore that is worth the time.

Bad take. They’d do that if they could, but obv that’s a ridiculous ask these days.

Sure they have a ton of filler crap, but they have a decent amount of elite movies / shows and plenty of good ones, including some of their “in-house” stuff.

The quality’s likely gonna go down as these separate services splinter off too.

I'm gonna stick up and defend this because it springboards into a hobby horse of mine: just how badly Lost and reddit ruined people's ability to enjoy media.

Not everything needs be a mystery. The predictable nature of the terrible consequences that follow the bad decisions the main characters make is the plot, it's what gives you the feeling of dread and tension that drives the last 2/3rds of the movie.

There's no twist, the village isn't the village from The Wicker Man, nobody is secretly in Al Qaeda, it's just two everyman protagonists doing normal 30 year old bro **** and then everything goes real bad and just keeps getting worse. You aren't there to learn what happens next, you can do that in 2 minutes on Wikipedia reading the plot summary. You're there to experience the ride. That's the genius of the movie, that is it so stripped down.

That makes it sound pretty boring and not worth watching

94% on Rotten Tomatoes, man.

2 guys from the big city on a hunting trip to a tiny town accidentally shoot a kid and try to cover it up. That's the whole plot, it's a sentence. The drama is them attempting to get away with the coverup, arguing between themselves about whether they should just go the cops or if they're in too far, etc. etc. etc. At no point is anything forced or implausible, the characters aren't stupid or crazy, there's no wild twists or turns, it's just escalating tension.

A bigger, dumber movie could've had them discover a drug smuggling ring or Satanic cult or whatever, but instead all the drama comes from decisions the main characters make and because the characters are such everyman Joe types it's very easy to emphasize with them even as they do some pretty awful ****.

I’m on episode 5, so far just as good as all the previous seasons.

I liked The End of the ****ing World.

Narcos/House of Cards/Ozarks started good but went downhill quickly.

I tried Bloodline/Black Mirror/Riverdale/Orange is the New Black/Russian Doll/Bate Motel but wasn't into it.

At the end, Stranger Things is their only home run.

They should focus less on quantity and more on quality.
