Re: Netflix \"Watch Instantly\"

So this is weird.

I was looking at Comedy Centrals lineup for tonight and there is an episode of Bojack Horseman set to air tonight.

Is this the first Netflix show to get a syndication deal? I didn't even imagine such a thing would happen.

Re: Netflix "Watch Instantly"

Finally a Netflix original film that doesn't suck!

Just watched 22 July about a far-right terrorist attack in Norway. One man killed 77 people, the majority of whom were kids of politically connected people in Norway.

The main focus of the film is on the aftermath of the attack and the trial. It follows one family in particular that had 2 kids at the camp.

It's obviously not a "fun" movie, but was very well done and for such a politically charged subject, managed not to be preachy.

Amazon Prime show:
“Red Oaks” is great. Set in the 80’s and revolves around the main character figuring out direction in life as he works as a tennis instructor at a country club during summer breaks from college.

Check it out if you’d like a comedy that is bingeworthy and easy to get through. I found myself really wanting to see what was going to happen. Only thought 1 episode was meh and it was kind of out of left field.

Wow, Netflix cancels American Vandal after two seasons.

That's a shame, I really enjoyed the series

I’m guessing you’re talking about ep 7 being meh. I think it’s a reference to a popular 80’s movie. Doesn’t progress the storyline at all either so you can actually just skip it.

this means they're probably doing a great job with the concept because a world where the Axis power won WW2 would be depressing as hell

Already discussed (albeit with mixed reviews I guess), but IMO Haunting of Hill House is pretty great. Though I'm not entirely through the first season, best horror show I've seen and very compelling overall.

Is this some kind of neo-nazi troll?

Take that **** back to the politics forum.

Haunting of Hill House might be the best thing I've ever seen. It transcends the horror genre...everyone needs to watch it

Re: Netflix "Watch Instantly"

Im stuggling through S1 of Man in the High Castle. It just moves so slow and the plot feels convoluted. I thought the show would be awesome and was pretty excited to finally start watching, but its... not.

Tin Star is a pretty under the radar show available on Prime that I thought was very solid.
Its a really dark drama that actually made me a bit uncomfortable in a few places. Good stuff.

Deep in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, a recently emigrated police sheriff and his family try their best to survive in a charming mountain town rife with crime and corruption. Sheriff Jim Worth struggles with the ghosts of his past as he attends AA meetings, and his wife, Angela, tries to integrate in the town of Little Big Bear. At the same time, a massive oil company, North Stream Oil, opens a refinery just out of town, bringing with it a swath of migrant workers, rising crime levels, and pollution. When a friend of Jim's dies under mysterious circumstances written off as a suicide, he butts heads with representatives of the oil firm when he tries to uncover the truth of the matter.

Finished Jack Ryan. Really entertaining, albeit with storylines which at time seem a bit over the top, though well worth the watch. Looking forward to the second season.

I'm sure I'm wrong, but this reads like you're not aware it's based on a real attack that happened in Norway!

That sounds like something David Foster Wallace would've written.

Oh yeah that's surprising. Loved S1 and am looking forward to watch S2 soon (I realize it's already out, friend was high on it).

I think there would've been many more angles of pranks at a high school for future seasons. Sad!

I happened to drive by Utoya only a few weeks after the attack had taken place. It was quite difficult to drive on the road this **** was on before he took the boat.

Also saw the damage the bomb had left in Oslo, something that's understandably not talked about a lot anymore.

I'm aware it's based on a real attack. Tried to leave my post somewhat vague so it didn't spoil anything that happens in the film.
