Watched the first episode and agree with this. Very slow and not very interesting.

All of these critiques are valid. It's super slow.

However, if you really enjoy courtroom documentaries and watching lawyers rip apart "expert" witnesses and things of that nature, it's worth hanging in there till like episode 5 or so when the trial begins.

The Circle - not the Hanks/Watson one.

50 people wake up in a darkened room, only to find that one of them is killed every two minutes or when they attempt to leave, and then they realize that as a group they control which one gets killed.

I'm not going to explain any more than that as to what happens other than to say I really enjoyed it.

safe was nothing special but worth 8 episodes if you like that type of mystery drama

pretty much felt like riverdale season 1 with adults

yeah, i dunno if they left stuff out but the only character flaw seems to be infidelity but given the way his first wife went to bat for him (and knew about his bisexuality) and his relationship with all of his children (both biological and adopted) there isn't any evidence imo that he is a POS and quite likely that his wife was aware that he was bisexual.

I saw no evidence of that either, but I brought it up because someone put in the work to research themselves into that idea, and still couldn't imaging Michael doing it.

I finally finished it. agree with all that was said. I would love more and more true crime films tbh. the more the merrier imo.
if its a 10 part episode series id rathr have it slow than fast.

my thoughts? first on the production, A+ loved how we got the look into the defense, would have been nice to see the prosecutions side. but I loved how in depth and we got a lot of rudolph early on, really enjoyed that., the final 3 eps were fine as well.

as for the story

this is crazy. from episode 1 TO NOW. I still say ****, that is not only a lot of ****ing blood for someone flling down the steps but those head gashes are crazy. WE ALL KNOW someoen who has fallen 5-10 sets of stairs and they never broke anything or just got bruised, its happened to me. so with that much blood, that gashes, I just say **** man, how doe s fall do that. how hte **** does someon falling 15 steps not only get all those bruises and all that **** happen to them but also DIE in a matter of mins. just by falling down? I know its happened and she was old but the chances are still pretty slim.

that being said

even if he DID do it, the prosecutions case, especially now what we all know, was so ****ing weak. I want to side with them, and I still might idk but their evidence was so ****ign weak, at the end of the day it was this and only this that "there was too much blood and dmg for it to be a fall" i know we didn tget the whole trial but **** they were so weak an pompous and them actually tricking the jury, its just not right. amazing what 5+ years after a trial you can dig up that you couldnt before.

i still dont know if he did it or not, but that prosecutions was weaker than casey anthony trial, OJ trial, steven avery trial, all of those prosecutions were awful but stronger than the ones these guys put up imo. again tho we dint see much of their side.

was well done, would love to have more discussion about it. seems like everyone is 100% he didnt do it camp. HOWEVER I DO THINK it was okay for the judge to bring in the bisexuality and the germany thing, i dont se how it could be prejudice, especially hte German thing. coincidences suck but for some reason for a lot of famous murder cases...thres usually a reason.

will hope to discuss more tomorrow, I hope someone shreds my post and rips me up so we can have some banter.

Finally got around to finish binge watching Halt and Catch Fire. I don't seem to find a lot of shows I really like so I felt pretty sad when I reached the end of this one. I've got Better Call Saul to finish watching and then I'm out of ideas.

The well written well acted drama is hard to find these days with all the dragons and robots running amok.

I’m drawing a blank on recommendations. Amerikans was pretty awesome and just wrapped.

Mad men is a standard.

Vikings is actually well written and well acted.

Idk....

Deadwood of course if you never watched it, and are willing to be upset it was cancelled...

Not on Netflix, but if you haven't seen it yet, You're the Worst delves as much into drama as it does comedy, and the cast is out of this world in their roles.

Its probably the most underrated show on Television. All 4 completed seasons should be on Hulu, and the final season will begin airing end of August.

Funny I started watching Americans last night because I'd watched maybe an episode or two a long time ago and gave up. Now that it's so highly rated I'm going to try it again. I'll check out Vikings too.

You're the worst is one of the only comedies I really like. The other one is Silicon Valley. I have a few seasons of You're the Worst left so that's something to look forward to.

I'm also going to try out Justified after reading in another thread that it's considered a top show, especially after the first season.

There are shows like Narcos that I'll watch for a while and then drop off for some reason. I think it's because I multitask and don't always pay attention. That's what happened to me with Game of Thrones. I watched the first season and then somewhere in the 2nd I realized I had no idea what was going on and then I lost it. I watched the first season of The Leftovers recently and then just gave up in the second season. I just wasn't interested anymore. There just aren't enough shows where I have the stamina and interest to keep watching to the end.

I loved Justified. It was even better since I live in Appalachia near where it is fictionally located. It is very very well done, a little more on the ‘action’ side than drama. Definitely well written and acted.

You have lots of great shows to watch. Enjoy!

I have also heard Justified is great. Be warned though, before hearing that my wife and I watched the first episode, and it was one of the most hokey, annoying, awful pieces of garbage we've ever seen. We quit immediately and it left such a bad taste in my mouth that I have not been able to return to it even after everyone has sung its praises.

I think so long as you go into the first episode with the knowledge that its terrible and gets better you'll be fine. But if you go in without warning expecting a great show and see... whatever the hell that first episode is, then its gonna make you not want to continue.

True. The characters start out woefully underdeveloped. Iirc, Walton Goggins ‘Boyd Crowder’ did not plan to stay on with the character. They realized how awesome he was and boom, show exploded.

Just finished The Americans and it will have to go down as one of my all-time favorites. Does not get enough love.

I think the entire first season(and only the first season) of Justified is generally regarded as bad. Pretty sure they change the format from episodic starting with S2.

I think what bugged me the most is they say "Justified" like nine ****ing times in the pilot. We get it! That's the name of your show!

Re: The Staircase
How do the guys that produced the documentary actually make money? Do they even make money or do they do this as a hobby? Just curious as this has taken 16-17 years to produce all in all would it really be worth their time?
